    I purchased a 2020 XP 1000 for home use and trial riding. I quickly realized I had a "canoe" (2-3 seater). Family and friends that did not have a machine could not ride along in our "canoe". So we bought the exact same machine down to the color, a "boat" if you will, so our family and friends could enjoy a trail ride with us. Thanks for the comprehensive overview and opinions. Interior noise is something to ponder.

This one is the Northstar edition with all the amenities, now I can plow in the winter with heat and an enclosed cab as well as for hunting. Thoughts on the CVT durability and reliability issues as you get more miles on? Friends who have had these rangers have run into a fair amount of issues beyond the belt changes. Like the Honda automatic transmission but still leaning towards this machine based on the creature comforts of the hvac and sealed cab. Thanks for the great video.

      Great question. This is my second Polaris Ranger XP Crew 1000, this one is too new to know. But my last one, I worked hard hauling heavy loads of tree rounds, plowed with it and drove it hard. It never crapped out on me, when I traded it in the Polaris dealer said I needed a new belt and clutching work. But I didn't notice any problems using it. No highways? I’m sure that it’s not a vehicle you’d want to take on the Highway EVER lol. Just curios what limitations come with making it street legal, do you get plates for it? I’m trying to figure out what use I could get with one, like throw it into rotation on the weekend to just cruise around town. I live in a small town in south Louisiana and that looks like fun for me and the wife. Kids are grown and gone (thankfully lol) so mows the time to play lmfao. I’m going to look at an expedition later today, I’m sure I won’t have a response by then but I’m just doing the research right now. I haven’t seen other videos quite this detailed (awesome job, got you a new subscriber!) and while I’m bugging you, how’s the ride? Again, I haven’t seen ANY videos of it on paved roads. I’m positive those tires will need upgrading for use on roadways, my 4wheelers tires all suck on pavement but we rarely are ever on those when riding, different machines obviously, but they’re horrible for paved surfaces. Do you use it much more with it being street legal? I’ve no illusion that this will replace a car by any means but having the option is another great reason when the wife asks “what did you bring home this time” lol. Thanks. Sorry for the book of questions in advance.

    • @LifeintheNorth40
      @LifeintheNorth40 10 месяцев назад

      Yup in our state this is street legal except on interstates or highways, however the highway I live off of is a max 45 mile an hour speed limit so it is legal. All other roads are legal for this machine, as well as you can cross over highways etc.. Do it all the time. in high on a paved road it will go almost 70 MPH. This has seat belts and roll bars, a review mirror and horn as well as turn signals (These 3 are required in our state to make it street legal). Ya the stock tires are for off road, some folks here have changed out the tires for more street style. As to the ride is is great, it leans at speed on a paved road with the atv suspension of course, however you can adjust and stiffen the suspension as discussed in our video as well. Thanks for watching and for subscribing we appreciate you

    I checked with my local dealer. He told me the 2 door has an MSRP of $35,000 - Then I went to my local Toyota dealer - he gave me an out the door price for a 4 door Tacoma TRD Off-Road for $35,000. I've already got an F-450 and a Kubota tractor with cab that has heat/ac and BT radio, a snow blower, rear blade, box blade, 72" mow deck, front end loader, grapple, and fork tines. I'm trying to understand why someone would spend $35,000 on something that seems like a joke. Any suggestions?

    • @LifeintheNorth40
      @LifeintheNorth40 9 месяцев назад +3

      Not sure what good pricing for a Tacoma looks like, I prefer Polaris as its American made Toyota and Kubota are not. Don't know what dealer your talking to but that price is closer to the 4 door I have with a snow plow and frame as well as the pnuematic plow setup and a few other accessories I have. To answer your question, your Tacoma cannot go on the trails and inclines this can go on my property, as well as this gets into many tighter situations with my snow plow as I plow our driveway all winter as well as our private road. A Tacoma doesn't have a dump bed. There are many reasons this is the second one of these I have owned. A tractor cannot go on much of my wooded uneven property either unfortunately, I wanted a tractor for various uses but its not as practical for what we do and need as this machine. Thanks for the comment, take care.

    If you did it all over again, would you buy this one on your first purchase?

    • @LifeintheNorth40
      @LifeintheNorth40 9 месяцев назад

      This is the second Polaris Ranger XP 1000 I have owned, wore the first one out working on our property (Hauling wood rounds & slash as well as plowing snow and pulling loads), our first one was not the loaded Northstar edition though. Long answer to your question to say absolutely would buy this first purchase again. I actually special ordered this last NOV 2022 and picked it up APR 2023. Reasons I spent the money on this machine:
      1) It is the perfect vehicle for getting around our sloped wooded property in a way a truck or normal vehicl cannot.
      2) Its made in America
      3) It a great setup for plowing our private road and property in the winter (The Northstar is enlcosed and heated as well as having a windshield wiper) I have the hydraulic plow control that allows me to turn my blade from inside the vehicle.
      4) It has a large dump bed in the back, this is awesome for loading and dumping slash and loads.
      5) It will seat up to 6 people, so I use this to take my grandkids and family on rides.
      So for our needs it has proven to be the best utility vehicle option for all around use.
