This is epic, 90% of the times I only see a line of tanks going forward, shooting, then retreating and repairing. Both sides does that until the one that has more firepower wins, lol.
The worse part is its entirely unnecessary. The game actually rewards maneuver when you have a good, full crew and good situational awareness. A good tanker who knows this in foxhole can make it so the class of tank and class disparities involved is mostly irrelevant, but players choose to form tank lines out of fear of losing their tanks, or as compensation for lacking or incomplete crews. At least that's what I've noticed. In the five years Ive been playing this game though, my most successful moments as a tanker have been when I chose to break from the lines and maneuver the way a tanks meant to.
The problem I have found trying to break from linear warfare is not in experianced crew (I have been succesful with inexperienced crewmen, including ptes, in breaking from lines). My problem has been more that alot of heavy fighting ends up being in choke points where you can't choose to manuevre. And then team mates being unwilling to spend the time to look for an alternate aproach which can often be in a different hex.
I think a large part of this is just how hard it is to tell how much health you ACTUALLY have so tanks often waste time falling back to repair and it turns out they only lost 3% of their health. They need to make it so tank health is visible to crew WITHOUT having to get out and hammer just to get that information.
@@matthiuskoenig3378 as someone with ALOT of experience with tanks, the solution is to simply force your way through, the reason they always stay as a stalemate is everyone to scared to take a few hits, once had a mostly rookie crew in a silver hand and a Gallagher on a bridge battle, we pushed them hard forcing them too retreat whenever it best suited us and we made sure to never over extend, got 7 tank kills with our 2 that game, was only cut short when an enemy bt showed up.

it looks awesome but both sides have some serious skill issue. People don't know but tanks are not meant to be always moving and shooting, that is very rare and rarely only happens during ambushes or surprise attacks with strategy in mind. Real tank battles come with moving your stationary turret with tracks and a engine in a hidden spot and surprise attacking a convoy completely still and focused, occasionally maneuvering if you didn't get the convoy in the first volley. Remember, tanks are just previously emplaced stationary turrets or push weapons before they were given the option to move. 😉
This doesn’t translate into game tho as there are no penalties for moveing and shooting and your survivability in game relies on movement to get better deflection chances
