To bring it down to basic terms, his slender physique with the right amount of muscle mass in proportion to his VO2 Max--his body was made to run with minor fatigue. His heart is probably able to efficiently deliver oxygen straight to his muscles without inducing too much lactic acid buildup (the thing that makes your muscles hurt when you do strenuous exercises). Furthermore, around this time the natural endorphins should kick in which would seemingly "block away" the pain, some call this "Runner's High". This perfect cycle allows him (and other elite runners) to run at such a fast pace which for them is their base running speed. So, the sprint at the end may seem outstanding, which they are--but on scientific terms, it's a delicate balance of controlled intense aerobic/cardio training, proportional muscle mass, and an efficient running form.
My hats off for RUPP the only white man who challenged east africans in long distane race he beat kenyan and ethiopian 10k N won the silver next to mo farah 👍👍👍👍👍👍
1:10 explains it, 7:54 is the qualifying time to be entered in to the 3000m European championship. The reason for pacemakers though is because running in first you face the most wind resistance, so it's the hardest to lead a race, which means a tactical runner will stay in the back and conserve his energy to outsprint the guys who are tired from leading the whole way, but then everyone does that, and it just becomes a slow race. Having a pacemaker be the guy to take all that wind keeps the race a more "honest" race as everyone will just run how fast they would normally. Farah is actually a good example of why a pacemaker is important. He is one of the best runners of the decade, but he will often stay in the very back of a group because he is an elite sprinter, so an ideal one for him is one where he can just relax and blast past everyone in the end. Running a fast race makes the athlete beat you with a more overall skillset. Also, an additional negative is a slow race can cause a lot of trips and falls on the last lap as all the chaos unwinds, and it really doesn't feel good to see someone go 4600m and lose because someone hit the fast of his heel right at the end accidentally.
Chrustopher Helon you’re the one who doesn’t know what you are talking about. Why the fuck would Olympians drop out of a race? They are clearly pacers, look it up. Every race has them. Idiot
Unpopular opinion: People like Mo Farah that want to run for Great Britain should actually have to live and train in the country they want to represent. GB has literally nothing to do with his achievements (being neither the country in which he was born nor the country in which he trains) yet gets the boost in medal count when he wins for them. Farah wouldn't be anything without American coaches and infrastructure.
The Sloth I think that fact it was where he grew up and was encouraged to start athletics in the first place, went to school, went to university, and it is where his athletics career got serious is plenty reason for him to compete for GB. Also all athletes train in different countries except for Kenyans Ethiopians etc.

A mile at this pace is already national level for young athletes. Yet, true professionals hold it for 3 times longer, wow
Henry Chen yeah it’s pretty remarkable
True
Do you go to Whitehall?
I swear
Honestly, Galen Rupp looks like he just woke up all the time
@Dentist maybe he is like me and has aspergers too
I think though he probably is taxing and depriving himself in ways (nutrition, sleep, and possibly overtraining) that can make you look tired
Lol

Dentist I’ve met Galen Rupp before very approachable person. Very friendly and very humble.
A two man race. One of many wonderful battles between between Rupp and Mo.
As a sprinter, I can only imagine my 800m time getting close to their 5000m pace, 5000m is brutal
Would have been even faster if the lapped runners didn't get in the way.
Jay B don’t act like the other guys are terrible. They would destroy you by minutes
@Silviano Mora that's what he said wym
@@danielj5650 he's not acting like they're terrible. He's just saying if they weren't in lane 1 then the time would had been way better

Mo running for Adidas shocked me more than anything lol
Cameron Duquette Why?
lol I love how Mo drags Galen into the camera
Yoshi Muroi IK that lil passive aggressive elbow grab 😂 reminds me of me and my antisocial friend in track

Juan Pablo Polican bekele is the best fondist* mo is just a good tactical runner
No he isn't. Not even top ten, he is a tactical runner a world class exceptional tactical runner and a legend for his country.
Mo Farah is the world hide and seek champion 2012. He won it after successfully hiding from the drug testers, in his own home..
Usain Bolt is better

1:10 explains it, 7:54 is the qualifying time to be entered in to the 3000m European championship.

I’m new to track and i’m kinda confused. How come all the other runners dropped out while Mo and Galen are running?
Steve Harvey they were pacers, meaning they set a certain speed for the runners to run at to achieve a certain time
They dropped out because they can’t keep up that pace for the entire race. If they could, they would be running in the race
@@Marco-yz3hs you are wrong. Just shut up if you dont know what you are talking about
