A long time ago, when I was in my 20's I did some strong LSD on the beach at Playa Del Carmen. As I was near peaking, I departed company with my friends and took a stroll down the beach to explore the high more thoroughly by myself. A voice came to me. At the same time a feeling of bodily ecstasy washed over me. The voice said, "The one connection to the universe abound is your body". My fingertips suddenly felt like tactile miracles previously undiscovered as I tickled my arms and legs with glee. It took a number of years for me to learn to collapse the "I" back into the body because of all the imagination that the experience filled me with. It was a double-edged sword.
“Become conscious of being conscious. Say or think “I am”, and add nothing to it. Be aware of the stillness that follows the “I am”. Sense your presence, the naked unveiled, unclothed beingness. It is untouched by young or old, rich or poor, good or bad, or any other attributes. It is the spacious womb of all creation, all form.”
It is an experience, therefore it is not the Self. It is another state of mind and not to be trusted or cherished. Drugs like these only emphasize the mind which is not the way to stillness. It is a pointer in the wrong direction.
Time and space are in the mind but the Self is beyond the mind. This is why silence is all-important. This beautiful formulation captures the essence of an Eternal Reality and reminds one of the unlimited power and Majesty of God. In Islam, it is encapsulated in the Throne Verse (Ayatul Kursi) of the Holy Qur'an where Allah reveals his Sovereignty over space-time. What Sri Ramana teaches is identical to this sacred verse.

Anyone can experience the self directly too with chemical help. I wish I was able to be in the presence of someone like him. But 5-MeO-DMT is way better than nothing
Where I live, I have not come into contact with a guru. I have been practicing the silence and self enquiry, is it really necessary to come into contact with an enlightened guru for self realization?

So by living a material life you do it . He never talks about disassociating from material life . So I'm confused . Do we have to disassociate from the material world or live our life to the fullest like sadhguru wants us to . He loves riding suv and loves snakes and building different buildings . Which one is right ?
There is absolutely no need to disassociate from material life. Most important thing to practice is the understanding that "prakrti kriyamanani gunaih karmani sarvashah" that actually all the work is being done by the modes of material nature and one who clearly understands that the self, which is the real us, does not do anything - "yah pashyati tatha atmanam akartaram sa pashyati" - BG 3.30 - asitis.com/13/30.html - can continue to engage in all the activities with that knowledge and experience.
Follow your heart. The important thing is to not b be attached to your life, fot it is temporary, a loan from God. But yes! Express YOUR SELF! Why else would the universal Self allow each of us to be created with an independent mind? You are and have always been Your Self.... And this is The Self! You are Self Shining! Does it make sense that, if you put sincere attention into realizing your true nature as Self, then what you then do will emanate as exactly was it spontaneously appropriate for you to accomplish or not accomplish in a given situation? You go from premeditated ideas and goals based on memory and anticipation into the spontaneous and immediate being where experience is simultaneous with All. Perhaps the total functioning of dynamic being is far more flexible, wise and exact than is obvious at first? Making the realization of who you really the number one and primary point of your practice is essential, in this case.
shbitz : I don't think that Ramana or any great spiritual soul has ever said that one must disassociate from society in order to awaken. Spirituality is an inner seeking. As for outer life, that will be an individual matter according to one's personal dharma. Whatever that is, one's spiritual journey goes along with that....it is not a separate matter. Put your mind and heart with the Divine whatever you do, wherever you are. There is no contradiction in that.

Why in heaven’s name learn how to collapse the “I” back into the body?
