Dave here. Have been riding the Varitrike for 6 months. My arms are much stronger now. It is wonderful in so many ways. The most important advantage is SPEED. Thanks so much for getting Martin in an interview. I saw videos of the Varibike a few years ago and called him and he explained the entire product to me and spent plenty of time on it. The cost at that time(during Covid craziness) was in excess of $10k with no dealers in US. It is obviously a complex piece of equipment that would require a talented mechanic to get running properly. I spoke with two very respected mechanics in shops that I use and they were both very wary of getting involved in setting up and servicing such a complex trike. The concept is spectacular and I would spring for one if I had a certified dealer/mechanic but as it is now it’s a lot of money to spend without local support . Also I would love to test ride one before dropping that kind of cash. Making one available for trial at one of the bike US bike shows would be very helpful. I’d love the combo it delivers.
Good point getting the trike dialed in. Thanks to Laidback bike report I've got a lot of materials sent to me by Martin. The trikes features ring lots of bells for me. I'd like to try a FWD, and the hands/feet versatility.
@@bumpyroad55 I’d love to own one as it delivers a fill body workout.im not even turned off by the price as you buy it once and use it forever. I’ve spent a helluva more than that on golf dues in a year. My biggest concern is construction, service, adjustments and maintenance. I’d love to see Martin sell patent access to a US company like Catrike for a royalty for each unit sold. It would make me a buyer immediately.
Hi Mark. The Varitrike is simpler in many ways than other recumbent trikes. The steering requires only the bearing in the center of the frame. Brakes and gearing use conventional parts. Where is the difficulty?
@@dcmchenry it might be simpler than many trikes but company support for bike techs and parts availability is essential. For those not capable of working on their own trikes it is essential. Esoteric products have a history of dying of support isn’t provided, that’s why I suggest some sort of partnership
Martin Kraiss, I don't even own a Varitrike yet😉 , but having experienced chronic disease, which greatly messed up my back, I'm familiar with the need/desire to stay active somehow, in spite of debilitating illness. I want to express my utmost gratitude to you for this innovation. Gob Bless !!
The MOST underrated recumbent trike planform! BOTH Maximum Suspension and Maximum Comfort under rider's torso (not his knees)! Both Delta Planform and Tadpole Planform trikes here! Deltas offer much superior, BOTH ride and comfort! Maximum Load Capacity WHERE twin tires can optimally be SO heavily loaded (not so on ANY tadpole)! Are customers athletes OR handicappers? Matters not! Totally usable by greatest number EVER of potential users! HIGHEST Suitability for most everyone, whether Athletes, highest Speed Pursuers, or Handicappers!
