I find it's such nice thing SM does to let manager stay with group. Because rental in Seoul is insanely high and most of their time not staying at home anyway
That and I think it's also for extra supervision, protection and to create a good bond between them and their manager. SM's groups have always had good relationships with their managers.
If u watch ‘the manager’ series and u will know that their manager actually gave them a lot of freedom like going out to buy their own meals if they have nothing or already finish their work for the day!!! This manager doesn’t really supervise them as much and give them quite abit of freedom

They do have a lot of freedom, but it's always good to have the manager around to take care of them if something bad happens. Their manager especially is very protective of them, which I'm grateful for, since a lot of times when they go out their security is lacking when you look at how they get crowded at public places like airports or when going to events

On the plus side SM idols fandom is not as toxic as other companies idols as the company over the years has been making their idols mix with their own label mates as family. SM is one of the companies that encourages dating but best is within the company becos is easier to do damage control.

i mean sm had seulgi live in what was basically a utility room like four or five years into their successful career, you really have to lower your expectations when it comes to sm's treatment
it's good to live in a frugal life if you're rookie to know humility and experience what their sunbae went through(it's even not good as this) also I heard SM dorms are mostly use for promotions, some can go home if they want to if there's no schedule. The company gives dorm as long as the group is active like how some Super Junior members still live in their dorms if they feel like it.
This is already a big dorm if you ask me, lots of space... other idols would share 1 room with bunk beds... apparently this was Shinee's and WayV's former dorm...
