That was more helpful than the dozens of self-tape instruction vids on RUclips. Also, is it weird that I like most of the audition performances more than the final product performances?
I love this! To actually see the audition to the actual scene is a gem. I’ve been out of the acting game for a while but this makes me wanna dive back in 🤩
Great source of info. Thank you so much as I have been asking my agent and manager some of the same questions I just got answered on, like where to edit my reel, a self-tape studio... Great stuff. Very interesting to see what works. My success rate has been horrible with self tape so I need to get this down. Again, major thanks.
Hi Kristen, These are super helpful. Thank you so much! Can you post some of your self tapes (commercials or theatrical) that have booked? Or maybe the best tips you have to book commercials?
For sure. I actually haven’t booked and self tapes only live zoom auditions. But I’ve gotten several callbacks and producer sessions, even pins from my tapes. When the show airs I will put my auditions up and who got the part to see the comparison though!
All fantastic. Inspiring. Gino reminded me of James Gandolfini in his style and physical presence. Tony Soprano. Great to see how simple they keep the self tape. I think sometimes I make assumptions which weaken my choices. Thank you for posting.
@@kristenhenryking I’m SAG eligible. Just gotta pay the fee. I’m with a local agency. I need to get with an agent on another level. Love your channel btw 🙌🏽🙌🏽
I’m not aspiring to become an actor as I am just average looking dude with baggy eyes, but I have been on a kick the last few months learning about the career of acting. It’s so fascinating and I really love the idea of it of bringing emotion to the table to story telling. It’s all about storytelling. I love that. Maybe I could do voiceover stuff. Just kinda looking to try some things at this point.
Hey man - the vast majority of actors aren't movie star, perfectly handsome people. What matters in this industry is talent and hard work!! If you have talent and work hard, you will achieve success...don't let the self-perception of your looks deter you from starting an acting career...you may have just the right look a producer is searching for!!
@@sadurnprod Talent, hard work, and botox, lots and lots of botox. Jk. Thanks Michael for your comment. That is true. I think I am pretty average, but I definitely long to be better looking too often. Getting better at not doing it so much I think though.
My problem is never really knowing where to look. I used to just stare down the barrel of the camera, but it gave a really off vibe when I watched it back. So I went to the side but it still looks awkward
What does that matter? The casting director asked them to tape themselves, they didn’t go in an office. That is by definition a SELF-TAPE. How you get it done is up to you

Not weird at all! The actors had a take on the character that got them noticed. Then they got directed to what the show wanted. I feel the same way!

Awesome! Do it!!!!
Great video! I love seeing the audition and then the scene from the actual booking. So great!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!
"I'm gonna show it, and grow it" 😂😂😂 I loved Narcos!!!
Hahaha! Yes!
So incredible to see this! THANK YOU!
Glad you enjoyed it! More to come!
That was amazing and soooo informative you can see them just having fun and adding themselves to the characters
Yes, totally! Thanks for watching!!!
oh my gosh the last one using the handheld camera is amazing
Agreed!

Glad it was helpful! Sometimes you need to see what others are putting out so you can match it or better! Thanks for watching.
Looking at their auditions and seeing all the actors in the moments and nothing else happening but that is so much fun to see!
you got it! they are totally just living the moments! not pre-planned at all!
Thank you for the love! KHK rocks!! ❤️
Always!
What a gem of a video showing comparison from the audition to the show
Glad you liked it!!!

ME TOO! LOVE THE ACTING CENTER LA. Their crank out some great actors!
So so helpful. Thank you :) xx
So glad!
Priceless!!
I agree!

You are so welcome. Sadly I couldn’t post his clip due to copyrights but it was so good!
I LOVE THIS - More of it...
You got it!
Thanks!! This was great
Glad you liked it!
Could a self tape like these be put into a demo reel if you haven’t had any official jobs? I’m not sure what’s acceptable or not yet
My manager will use my self-tapes to pitch but I don't think it should be for a reel. Why not produce something yourself?
How were they able to even get auditions for Netflix? I use Actors Access but nothing like that is on there.
You are absolutely right. You need an agent for those. How are your marketing materials? Are you union?

I understand. Well hopefully my channel can help you decide if this is something you want to do more of or not.

Super. Thanks a lot
Welcome 😊
Can I use dialogue from books as scripts, Monologues? I’ve been asking everyone I can possibly find. Please, someone help me, respond, thank you!😅🙏🏼
I don’t see why not. The book “Working” has a lot of good monologues in it you can choose from.

Oh yeah, don’t do that! Hope this helped
She was lucky to book that job from that tape
Or just talented :)
British accent is one of the very few accents that can book in US
Yet she did! Crazy right?
Didn't realize that actors can have coaches
Yes definitely! But I helped actors on the business side of things so that they can push their talent out in front of the world.
None of those are a self tape audition!!
They had someone else taping them in a room!
Nice try!!!
