Nice trip. You covered a lot of river with beautiful views and a couple of nice white water moments. 2summers BWCA Ely, Mn. Nice bow work and guidance.
Great video work Blake. Nice to see you in the RUclips world. Since canoeing is your world, this could be a great opportunity for you. I subscribed to your channel. Looking forward to seeing your trips. All the best Blake ! Barry Loy / CSR back in the day , the OA days were the best!
Really enjoyed the video. I've done dozens and dozens of kayak and raft trips between Hinton and Fayette Station. And I even worked a year at Bluestone State Park. It was great to see the areas upstream that I hadn't seen before.
Beautiful. I’m in SW VA on The New. I loved seeing your trip and was stupid excited when you made it to where I am. 😂🤷🏻♀️. I love the banjo 🪕 theme music nod to Appalachia. I enjoyed watching how the river grew each day and didn’t realize that. Just about all of the towns you passed were damaged by Helene #appalachiastrong And I agree the vision of our mountains in the distance is grand but up close they’re magic.
Man, I really enjoyed this video. I work in the big chemical plant in Narrows you passed by. I do a lot of day activities in a couple of the Bluestone rec areas. It is so interesting to see this beautiful river from your perspective. Well done!!!
Really enjoyed this. I spent 10 years guiding on the New back in the 80s and 90s. Get out and enjoy it as much as you can. Did you ever go back and run the rest of it?
That's some insane distance you guys traveled! Incredible trip! Loved watching it.
Blake is the man. Hope to see you on the portage trail friend.
Wow ! Great adventure. Thanks for sharing it with all of us. You two are impressive
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it
Great video, awesome scenery! Congratulations on a successful trip!!
I was just thinking about this very trip last night in my fly fishing raft. Now to figure out the portages.
The portages would be a challenge with the raft. I know people have done it!
Im an old river rat and Loved this Adventure❤ Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!

Prince to Thurmond was my very first white water trip. Silo was scary.

I only ran the New 1 time. It was under a full moon on acid. I was an upper Gauley guide from Colorado. They called us "Coolaid".
Great paddling!
I know that campsite you started at on the mountain. Great place. Camped there with my kids.

Great turtle necklace 😎

Not yet! Next time I'm in the area I plan on rafting the rest
Now that you made it that far, try the gorge sometime.
Great video. What was the chart (maps) you all used... thx,
We used the trails illustrated nat geo maps.
@BlakePaddles Thank you!
What is the song at the end of the video??? Thanks for such a relaxing and therapeutic video y'all. Wish yuns the best
Goals!
I did mouth of wilson to bluff city, the dam portages were a real bitch
Yall should try kneeling when going through the rapids. Someone has installed some nice knee pads for that
We went back and forth between kneeling and sitting depending on how difficult the rapids are. Even with pads it's hard to kneel all day long!
Fries is pronounced "Freeze"
Only in the winter
@@CanoeDude. You've still got it!
