Want to know how good we are in the secondary? I saw a list of the top 10 DB’s In the SEC and do you know who was on that list? Key Lawrence and he had to transfer because he wasn’t going to play. That tells you the level of talent we have and the level of talent the SEC is about to see we have. Cannot wait to see our defense. It’s funny though, fans have been screaming about a dominate defense, which it looks like we have but now those same people are complaining and worried about the offense. JA is going up against what could be the best backs in the country. Ewers threw 2 interceptions in their scrimmage over the weekend and guess who else threw two interceptions? You got it, Arch did as well. Texas doesn’t have a defense as good as ours and definitely not a defensive backfield like we have. Their defensive backfield was their weakness last year. Seth will call games that fit what JA and our offense excels at and will try to avoid putting Jackson in situations he has been struggling with. Struggling is how you grow and that’s how he gets better, our defense could possibly be the best defense he faces all year. That is how you get better.
Bro, you were ranked like 2 spots ahead of us in passing allowed last year. 😂😂😂 You know Jahdae Barron? The dude who is considered one of the best nickels in college? He isn't starting at nickel. Gilbeau (injured last year) took it. Now we are running double nickel packages as well as pushing Barron to corner and safety in some formations. Our defense was much better than yours. Go look. I think you guys will be improved. I think you will be top 20-top30ish. I think gained experience and manpower in the middle should help your dbs, and your lb room is pretty nasty. I still think Texas' D will be better. We lost 2 a+ players at DT. No team can replace 2 players of that caliber. Not even Georgia. But, I think the replacements are A level players and we grabbed competitive depth. Lole might be the 2nd best DT on our team right now and Broughton is on fire. We also got Moore and Simmons at edge. Which probably bumps our edge room from a B or B+ to an A- or an A. Mukuba...isn't starting. He is depth for us. You are gonna be surprised. 😂

Hey, I BELIEVE in Zach Schmidt! Last year was tough, and he feels the misses more than any of us do. Another year in the system. Another year of Coach V teaching him, and a year of hearing everyone trash on him. I think last year is the kind of experience that makes a great kicker and if he does the work we'll see the results we want. We gotta support him!
I have faith in your son, Mr. Schmidt! Fans give up on my players way too easily these days. If BV decides he's the kicker, then he's earned it. Now let's go win some close SEC games!
Good evening gentlemen, great job as always. Not to many coaches would let a heisman hopeful walk out the door for an unproven player. With all the newness going into the SEC...It would've been GREAT not having to worry about the QB position. Do you gentlemen think BV was afraid of JA transfering out if they kept DG? Just don't understand how you take a voluntary step backwards at your most important position and think it's an improvement. (Big ups to Kirby Smart for sticking with his guy even though he had 2 5stars waiting...team first). Best of luck to JA...BOOMER!!!
Whenever a fan base is as large as OUs, you’re going to have a small percentage that will say something ignorant. Don’t let them have space in your head. This is true for all programs. OU fans need to trust the coaches assessments and recognize they are the ones that truly carry the responsibility of putting the best players on the field.
The thing about JA is I would rather hear about him being sacked in bunches rather than making bad throws and getting picked off. We can at least punt after a sack and hope that this defense is stout enough to get us the ball back. If JA is throwing pick sixes that isn’t good and he should be looking over his shoulder to Mike Hawkins if he plays poorly. Why is it that every other player is competing for their starting spot yet JA doesn’t have to. I think that’s bullshit.
I remember seeing that unfamiliar quarterback from snow jr college at the scrimmage ( the one they played in Tulsa) . He looked not so great and we heard idiots on the stands saying “here we go again another losing season”. I mean these fans literally have zero clue. The defense knows the plays and they should almost always come out on top. They use to back in the day but when the offense rocks your defense then that’s a good sign of bad mediocre defensive play.

Totally agree. He has a bit of a hitch (like half a double clutch) on the majority of his throws. The time between when he sees something and when he gets the ball out is really high because of this.
