  • With its knob-per-function architecture, the UC1 gives you tactile control over SSL’s renowned Channel Strip and Bus Compressor native plug-ins (included with the purchase of the UC1), and it provides visual feedback via an army of illuminated LED rings. Instantiate Channel Strip on every track in your session - along with a Bus Compressor on your mix bus - and enjoy the experience of working on an SSL series desk in the comfort of your home or project studio.
    This video showcases me mixing with the Solid State Logic UC1 advanced plugin controller and the new SSL 4K b channel strip. This controller allows you to take full control of your SSL plugins with ease, giving you access to all of your plugins in one place. With its large display and rugged build quality, the UC1 is perfect for any studio.
    If you're looking for a powerful plugin controller, then the Solid State Logic UC1 Advanced Plugin Controller is a great option! In this video, we'll show you how to set it up and walk through all of the controls and features.

    Dave I absolutely love and deeply appreciate your videos! I own 2 UF8s and a UC1 and I love them. Your videos are a huge help with navigating and learning this console. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. Happy New Year man! -BC

    I love working with the UC1. For me, I don’t need a button to open the plugin window because everything is right there on the UC1. No need for the plugin window most of the time. Great videos on this. Thanks!

    Even though I can't afford it as it is, I think it would make it much more attractive if it had an actual moving output fader!😁

      you can use your daw controller faders, so uc-1 no need another fader more.

    Really great video. Is it possible to use the knobs on the UC1 and map them to 3rd party plugins - I have a lot of 3rd party "more complicated" plugins I am looking to access...

    • @HomeRecordingMadeEasy

      I do not believe you can do that. You may want to check with SSL to be 100% certain. Maybe in an upcoming firmware update, they could add such a feature?

    Looks like the integration with UC1 is much better than in Pro Tools. I have just bought a new Mac Mini and UC1. I am considering buying Studio One for two main reason: (1) M1 ready and (2) better SSL integration. By the way, why don't you use the HQ mode in the Channel Strip?

      I would tell you to go to Studio One vs Pro Tolls every day of the week.

    Hello! Thanks a lot for this video. I have a question. Why did you choose to put the EQ before the comp section and not after the comp please? I know there isn't a unique way, but I'm pretty disturbed about that. I learned long time ago this order could affect the clarity of the sound. What's your opinion?

    • @HomeRecordingMadeEasy
      @HomeRecordingMadeEasy  Год назад

      I just a matter of workflow. I usually EQ before compression and many engineers do as well. However, if you like compression before EQ, then that's not wrong. Do what works for you.

      Eq before comp will result in a warmer sound, Eq after comp will give a cleaner clearer sound

    Great video Dave. I have a question. How do you aproach the sends when you mix with these controllers? Do you still use your mouse and keyboard? Or is there a way to manipulate those in a more organic tactile way?

    • @HomeRecordingMadeEasy
      @HomeRecordingMadeEasy  Год назад +1

      you can use the UF8 for sends as well. You'll see that in the upcoming videos I have coming out on the UF8

    Great video Dave. I'm completely sold on the SSL controller gear. I've got a couple questions for you. On my budget, a Studiolive III console (SC model), and these plugin's are about as good as it will get for me (I'll be recording drums primarily). That said, I was wondering if you had any finished products of when you were using your presonus gear vs finished products using the SSL console you finally went to (I'm assuming you're still using it). I'm hoping to get very, very close to a finished product that sounds like it was recorded through a high-end SSL console. Your thoughts?

    • @HomeRecordingMadeEasy
      @HomeRecordingMadeEasy  Год назад

      So you are asking me if recording on a StduioLive will sound just like recording through a 60K SSL analog console? The answer to that question is no. However, will recording on the gear you mentioned and then mixed by someone that know what they are doing sound great? Of course it will

    • @phillamoore157
      @phillamoore157 Год назад

      @@HomeRecordingMadeEasy No....my question was poorly worded. Of course there will be a difference between a $150 plugin and a $50K+ console. In so many words, I was simply wondering how close it could get if using these "high-end" plug-ins. If those plugins will get me 80%-90% there, than that's plenty good enough for me.

    I have a Uc-1 , behringer x touch with extender. Do you know if we can control the faders in the 360 app with a third party controller? Love your content!

    • @Harrysound
      @Harrysound Год назад

      Well it doesn’t look like adding the plug-in on its own adds anything to the signal at all so what you put into it is what you get out.
