  • A thriller of a match with plenty action for the fans. Celtic had the better of the first half and almost scored following slackness in Hearts defence, Andy Walker hitting a post. Henry Smith having two brilliant saves and Craig Levein clearing a Frank McAvennie shot over his own bar. In reply Gary MacKay headed over with John Robertson coming close before John Colquhoun opened the scoring in 39 mins blazing home a Brian Whittaker pass from 22 yards. Hearts early second half pressure against 10 men (Mick McArthy) brought no goals and a strengthening Celtic scored after 79 mins - Mark McGhee heading home a Roy Aitken pass.

Great upload.i would definitely have been at this game as I went to all the games back then.Tynecastle was a great place to go.that Gorgie road end was pretty scary though at times.leaving the ground was always a tight squeeze.i also remember getting caught in a crush at the turnstiles on a Wednesday night earlier that year (1987)...anybody remember that...anyway,great year for Celtic.really miss those days
Modern football??...not a patch on it
P.S.....Ian Archer was a fine journalist.

Good times. Football highlights now are too short. Just goals and endless replays followed by 20 minutes of boring analysis.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but you can tell it's Tynecaslte with in the first 5 seconds, with the Novafone and Mitasports sponsors everywhere :)

Perhaps the "Capital Decorators" advert hoarding is definative. I mean Glasgow IS the capital after all. Tynecastle 100%

Good footage, but they keep cutting to Billy McNeill in the dugout, but it's clearly at Celtic Park. Well done Scotsport, donkeys!

How did Dave MacPherson play football wi that barnet? No wonder he used to run like he was balancing a Ming vase on his nut. His centre of gravity must've been in his bloody neck!

Plenty sectarian singing coming from the hearts fans, and yet they are never criticized, nothing changes

Boss Skinhead 69 rangers fans start the billy boys last wednesday night, hearts fans boo them til they stop, credit where its due, we have all but eliminated that element from our support, and we dont sing songs glorifying terrorism either, and we certainly dont donate money to terrorist states masquerading as poor downtrodden victims
