I've been asked a 100 times so here it is. I realized after editing this I say "things of that nature" way too much Here's a link for that steering wheel tray. amzn.to/37qgJcL
The thing I love about working with tools is everyone who is handy seems to have the same systems in place and problems. I always love seeing how people adapt to their situations and yet a lot of peoples solutions are pretty similar. good vid
Clean van. I installed a cheap rv sink in the back of my van. I do residential work so I can now wash my hands there and not in my customers home to avoid having it looking like the bathroom scene from pulp fiction.
I thoroughly enjoyed the van tour. I have to say I like how you were very to the point and concise about your your video. No over explaining, just everything you need nothing you don’t. I have to say I also admire that you don’t overthink the layout of your van. It’s less about being overly OCD. And it’s more about what works best. The tools you use the most being the most convenient to access, the storage not being over thought. Very nice! My only question is what is the hardest mechanic job you’ve ever completed.
Good ol tool boxes are a treasure. My father's machinist tool box is probably 50 years old and its still smoother and feels better than my 20 year old craftsman. Different time and makes. Suoer satisfied with all my craftsman stuff, shame Sears went out, i liked that place.
I'd say that your more organized than most mechanic/tool guys i know. Last time I had to help a friend with some work who also runs around in a tool van, we had to walk over and trip over stuff in the back to get to anything. And organization is a good skill to have in general! Eather way neat vids I like this channel. The sense of humor is similar to my fathers. But suppose that makes sence given he's a welder lol.
For carrying tools around I love having a tool bag that just goes over a 5 gallon bucket. You can’t throw stuff inside the middle but it’s got room for all sorts of little tools and the larger ones
It seems like you're a much better (or slower) driver than me based on the fact that you have stuff that isn't bolted down on top of that toolbox that is still on top of it when you arrive. Could be down to all the roundabouts we have over here though.
I'm also a road tech (ALTA Equipment). I was in your same van until somebody rear ended me. Now I'm in the Dodge Promaster 3500 and I hate it. Front wheel drive in a loaded down cargo van in Michigan is stupid. When I got rearended the force ripped a couple drawers of my toolbox right out of it. I decided I wanted a tool box with individually locking drawers, which I found. Best thing I could ever have done. My previous box had a single latch that secured all the drawers, but if the van is tilted just right I can't always catch all the drawers which is highly annoying. Also, I made a platform for my compressor which is instant floor space underneath where I keep my jack and a couple of buckets for clean and dirty rags. I traded over from tool bag to Milwaukee Packout about two years ago and I love it. I tend to take more than I need for a given job but I hate walking back and forth to the van, so I make sure I have what I need the first time (doesn't work, but I know it reduces it dramatically). P.S. Here's a game changer! I recently bought a Milwaukee M12 palm nailer, I wondered how well it would work for roll pins in those awkward spots where you know you're gonna bend a roll pin pin punch because you can't hit it straight. Holy CRAP!!! It is awesome!!! I replace load wheels in record time with no cussing now.
That lunch tray is the most valuable thing in the whole van. No more mess or annoyance.

“When you need it it comes in handy”. Yep I agree
It’s dirty, yet clean. Somewhat chaotic, yet precise. This is most certainly a hard working man’s setup.
5 gallon bucket saved my pants a few times. Glad scented trash bags are a great addition too.
I appreciate the purpose of the traffic cone most of all.

"Cones for when someone runs me over they also have to run over a cone so they look even stupider doing it" 😂

Brings back memories.

My dad has the same drawer of screw drivers. Just a mix of all different types of screwdrivers.

I like things of this nature. Don't cramp your style.
Something about this video gives me “sorry I can’t go to
