I just really enjoy that this is one of the only relatively modern Tales games where a majority of the playable characters dress like they are from the same planet as the NPCs.
I don't want to kill the mood but:
0:09 - Explosion
0:34 - Mini Explosions followed by a larger Explosion
1:42 - Huge Explosion
2:02 - Explosion
2:07 - Explosion
2:20 - Exploding slashes
2:37 - Biggest Explosion ever
2:52 - Millions of Explosions
3:08 - Blue Explosion!
3:50 - Final Explosion
(isn't that a meme? - Everything's better with an explosion)
Can't wait for the day when Tidal Wave will be followed by an explosion lol

It's so obvious that it was a low budget Tales but I don't feel angry at Seven chord at all. Actually, they proved that they can do really good mechanics and everything in 2D (Menu, cut-ins animation, etc) are extremely well-done in both R games (they should totally do a 2D Tales!). I'm quite angry that Namco didn't gave a sh*t about these remakes that are supposed to be mothership titles. Especially for Hearts since it was Baba's first Tales I thought he would take preciously care of it but nope... Those games could have been 100x better. I'm getting more and more sceptical about Namco's choices over the years...
Don't get me wrong, I applaud Seven Chord for being able to do really decent first Tales... and I applaud them even more for being able to deal with Namco :p

to this day I wonder if the "absolute zero" hi-ougi is a nod to "absolute zero translations" the team responsible for the fan translation of the original DS release of Tales of Innocence
I have been wondering that too. It would be awesome if that was true!
Super unlikely, since "Absolute Zero" has typically been Celcius's summon attack in Tales history. Most likely a nod to that.

This should be released with Tales of Hearts R in the western too.
The Mystic Artes weren't that great but those two and Destiny 2 and Rebirth must get over here. The latter two maybe even as a R.
They should just port all of them. I know they’re porting Symphonia Chronicles for Switch. Good for them, but I would prefer them to start working on porting games we don’t have access to yet. Innocence, Rebirth, and Tempest included.
Naturally a Mystic Arte exhibition must follow! :D
Unfortunately, the Mystic Artes lacked punch here, like they did in New World. I'm not trying to be a downer, but this is what happens when a company works with a less than limited budget (not to mention outsourcing in this case). However, it was nice everyone had two Mystic Artes, one new one and their classic previous life transformation (excluding Kongwai and QQ).
You just couldn't resist one more Mitsuaki Madono moment of "WATAH!", could you? X3
Yeah its a shame, but at least unlike Dawn of the New World the main game is a lot of fun as I hope everyone noticed from the gameplay I uploaded lol
Dunno if 7th Cord got a better budget for Hearts R or not, but they definitely got better at the Mystic Artes in that game xD.
omegaevolution It's a shame we didn't get this one so it's not like I have any room to criticize, but I can take your word for it (and your videos). ;D
And we in the U.S. will see the results of that in time. :)

I've been thinking of importing this game since I'm starting to doubt that this game is going to get localized like Hearts R. IIRC, Vita isn't region-locked, right? I have pretty much no understanding of the Japanese language, but I got through the original Hearts on DS just fine. Would I be able to understand how to play this in the slightest? Btw, I love your videos. You're the first person I go to when I wanna see Tales stuff.

Depends on how high the Rave Gauge is when you use it. Probably a safe guess that Omega threw them out without building the gauge first just to get them recorded.

Incorrect. Hi ougi damage increases to a certain limit depending on combos. For now say that I got a 30-hit chain the hi ougi follow-up (and connects) would do like 5x damage.
Not entirely, in graces your hiougi damage is determined by combos AND uses, wich was amazing to see this feature, Hiougis has Count in graces O_O
In Abyss they were a set damage as your level and equipament I think, just as RM1.
