he was miserable because of multiple reasons, including but not limited to: -religious differences between himself and hayley, he felt like the bad was getting misrepresented, he said he had attempted to try and get her to change certain lyrics but she refused -he felt that hayley was being manipulated by management / felt that the band had turned into the hayley show -hayley has also admitted most of the songs on BNE are about josh ... so imagine playing every night at these shows and having all these people sing back these negative lyrics about you back to your face -to sum it up: a lot of resentment between him and hayley
