Sad... Only 143 likes for the TAMOCOAT! Sorry, I just made up that abbreviation 😁It means The Absolute Master Of Comedy Of All Times! He was just SO brilliant! I saw his earlier shows when they were on TV in Holland. I don't know what year(s) were broadcasted but it must have been from the "At Large" shows. At that time I was probably in my teens and my English was wobbly at best I didn't get most of the jokes. When I asked my mother she was no help because her English was even worse than mine, and she didn't really like his jokes on religion. She wasn't church-going but was raised by VERY strict parents. And subtitles were not as good as they are now, so I missed a lot. But I loved to watch anyway. He was a very good looking man (I say now that I am 60) and might have earned himself a small fortune. Not just because of the shows, but because of all the very realistic sound effects he could do. Just my humble opinion.
Btw I do remember one particular part. I've recently re-watched it as part of the "At Large" shows. It's were he talks about a priest saying "In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost" and that he, as a kid heard "In the name of The Father, the Son, and in the hole he goes". I understood something similar when I was a child. In Dutch it goes: "In de naam van de Vader, de Zoon, en de Heilige Geest" where Heilige Geest means Holy Ghost. As a child I understood "en de Heilige Geest" (and the Holy Ghost) as "en het Heilige Beest" (and the Holy Beast)
Thank you so much for uploading this treasure trove! Only 2 more to go... *sniff* Btw I kind of miss the Irish drunk jokes but that is what I remember him from. Silly me :)

How's that, mate? If you're saying that Dave Allen is riotously funny and a most ingenious, inventive and clever comedian and story teller, then I heartily agree with you!

This bloke must be writing 11th. or 12.th. century Anglo Saxon or perhaps the Old Norse Viking tongue!
