Steven Allen yep. Can't remember the year now, but it would have been mid to late 90's Used a computer for sequencing, but the rest is all hardware samplers/synths
Thank you for not submitting a takedown notice. I love this tune. First heard it on the DJ DB mix CD "Shades of Technology". I then happened to find a white label copy at the old Breakbeat Science in NYC circa 2000 while I was in college and really beginning to (what I feel) master the way I wanted to mix songs. Heavily influenced by DJ DB's opening with it, I opened my mix with it too. (Please don't submit a take down of my mix!) ruclips.net/video/j5XDtf5DC78/видео.html
I own the vinyl now since 25 years , played it a lot, yet I come here from time to time to enjoy the enigma of this tune on the internet and see people commenting. In life many pieces of music come and go, this one made a difference, this one will stay with me until the very end. Maybe beyond. Thanks.
I'm 40 now and when i had to list the 10 most important tracks of my whole life, this is one of the first i would write down. When i was 17 this track was the soundtrack of a Summer with many new, good friends and a wonderful time. It"s a masterpiece, one of the best drum&bass records ever. Thanks to the producer for this fantastic music.
@@vonanstetten2355 For a track made in 78 it's really cool. I prefer a track from 79 titled Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick by Ian Dury and The Blockheads. It's a lot more dark and atmospheric than Hamburger Lady.
10/10...this is insane. thank you so much Edit: After a few days writing my comment...and listening to this masterpiece over and over. This IS one of the best DnB tunes I have ever heard. Oh my...simply amazing.
This track is DOPE. In the all-time top 10 of drum and bass. And I'm not saying that because I think that's not a big deal. I know it's a big deal. And I say it and it is true.
the perfection of progression. heard this way back in the back of my mates car. never knew the title, tried asking for this at the record shop, "mate it goes dum de dum" bloke in the shop looked at me like this lads on some wacky stuff. glad to have found it.
This track is literally formative for my drum & Bass project Vector Burn. I have been referring to this tune as essentially an ideal since it came out.
Do you have any idea why on the single the artist name is written EXCOCET but in reality it should be Exocet? Are we even sure that Exocet is correct? :D
I made this track about 20 Years ago.
Nice to see it getting an airing on youtube.
seriously?

No lies.
Vector Burn's latest release on Force Recordings kinda captures the vibe.

Never heard this before, it's beautiful
This one is the best because it literally breaks down and illustrates every essence of drum and bass. It's the template.
This track vibes so hard every time I come back to it. Been doing so for 20 years.
So glad DB used this for an opener on one of his CDs. I never would have found it. Big up Ian for this roller.
