I was at that game and the officiating was less than desirable. Short black guy and the tall guy do not like Jeff after he spoke out last year about the officials weren't up to par. Also the announcer saying that is how Cochran plays, she rolls her eyes a lot, gives head nods and side eye when she feels a call is bad. And you gotta give props for the eyelashes, just as we did for Dana last year.
The two Louisville techs were criminal. Like wtf?
The third called technical on the Kentucky coach was the only one that rated to be called a technical. Oh by the way the 3 point shot from Kentucky, the Louisville player never touch the shooter!!

A technical foul is a bad official’s way of retaliating when someone calls attention to a corrupt or incompetent act he has committed.

I’ve been defending officials all morning but this one I can’t. The initial foul call was weak. If your gonna give a technical give it to the initiator and the retaliator. Not good decisions by the officials

Those three typical foul should never even have in the first place now understand that the Kentucky coach was upset because of her player getting hit from behind for a three-poor attempt but the same time you know these referees a week like this is why I don't understand college basketball refs or understand college football refs because if you call the bogus crap ever in college sports and with 6.3 seconds left you see the Kentucky Coach snapping off on the referee and then you guys should have called for a technical foul with 6.3 seconds left like that's dumb

The second and third were WRONG and done right awful. The no call on an obvious foul was awful
The third tech, called on the coach, was not wrong, per se. Yes, the ref missed the foul, but you can't go off on an official like UK's coach did there.
The first AND second tech calls were *DEFINITELY* questionable, if not outright wrong, and I have to ask... if this had been a men's game, would a *male* player have been assessed those fouls??
The refs knew that they blew at least one of the tech fouls earlier in the game so they gave one back later in the game. They should have given it back long before.

The coaches are real jerks- throwing hissy fits when they disagree with a call. What a poor example they set for their young players. Who would want to be a ref having to deal with these people?
@@Onehellofaguy As I wrote earlier - who would want to be a ref dealing with hot heads like this? The leagues I oversee have real problems attracting and retaining referees, particularly younger people and women. We lose a lot of people due to over the top abuse from coaches, which signals that it is okay for players and even spectators to join in. These are young people playing in a semipro league, it is not the WNBA. And thanks for the crybaby tag - which is both provocative and unnecessary. I have played, coached and refereed junior and senior level at reasonably high levels over 30 years. As for the officiation on display here - the footage suggests the refs were overly intrusive and - yes - IMO the coaches do have a right to complain, but not in the bat shit deranged way we see here. And the Louisville coach does it ALL the time, rivalry round or not.
