Can you tell me what Symptoms your phone was having that lead you to determining the taptic engine needed replaced? Was your home button not working properly?
I disconnected it and reconnected and it fix it. Must of been a loose connection from being dropped. Thanks!

I dropped mine recently and my vibration doesn’t work. So the same thing probably happened to me.
I didn't know there was another screw underneath so i had to search on youtube to find out why the taptic engine isn't coming off. So thanks bro
Will this fix a phone that makes a loud buzz/beep when it vibrates? It sounds so much like a beep but it isn’t coming from the speakers so I have to assume something is loose and makes that noise when the Taptic Engine vibrates.
OK. I took it apart and found that a screw was loose. Easy fix.
That was my early assumption but after seeing many people online report this same sound and some even say that Apple couldn’t fix it, I had to assume that it was not a well known problem like a simple loose screw would be.

I have every time Unscrew the screws that hold taptic engine inside the case, why can this happen? Even after twisting everything repeats again :( , broken 2 taptics (

question..bottom of the L bracket screws are two different sizes..some how i got them mixed up..does the smaller one go on the left? thanks
*I know that I’m responding to a one year old comment, but I like to give the answer.* I had the same issue. The small triangle screw goes at the top. The biggest screw at the right and the medium screw at the charging port. So the biggest screw goes into a smaller hole than the medium one.
Normally will not work if just change the taptic engine ,need to write back original serial number to new taptic engine..but sometime change the vibrate without write back the serial also work ..anyone have answers for this? Some say just look at last 2 number of old Taptic engine and find same number will work ,is this true?

Yes, it will break the rubber gasket that makes the phone waterproof.
Save Apple Dollars do they sell replacements of the waterproof seal?

Im also curious if they sell new rubber gaskets? I’m also planning on fixing the back glass so if I just order a new backglass with frame, will that come with the rubber gasket?
I fucked up
i did this and found the two screws completely dislodged on the left of the haptic engine. So now I cant even screw them in because the mount came off with the screw. I probably have one of the rarest situations with these phones, the engine works fine. There probably isn't a replacement for what the screws screw into.
Zakk Molina same exact thing happened to mines. So now im just looking for a new phone
