  • It’s never easy to take criticism, even if it’s warranted and In the creative world, it’s even harder because design is so often subjective.
Even well-meant and helpful criticism of creative work can be difficult to take, when you’ve worked so hard on a project that means a lot to you personally.
If you don’t learn to take criticism effectively, you’ll never be able to grow as a designer.
You’ll also find it incredibly difficult to build a professional career in any of the creative fields or industries.
I myself have also received and dealt with a wide range of criticism.
In this video I am going to discuss 10 ways you can deal with criticism.
    Let’s Get Into it!
    *****************

00:03:46 Recognize the Difference Between Constructive and Destructive Criticism
00:04:30 Always Consider the Opinion but Remember That it is an Opinion
00:05:09 Be Ready to Counter Criticism
00:06:09 Take Personal Feelings Out of the Equation
00:06:59 Silence Them if the Timing is Wrong
00:07:30 Don’t Be Afraid to Walk Away

Love the video thank you for sharing! I have a very thin skin when it comes to criticism and I'm trying to work on that. I have a nightmare project where I've been trying to provide mockups for two vehicles for a company partial wrap lettering job and we've submitted over 20 revisions and spent wayy too many hours on. Looking for a professional way to back out at this point as I am pretty sure I cannot meet their expectations

Sometimes a client can be a bit unreasonable. I'v had experience with that. Once you fall into the precedent of constant revisions, that's what a client can come to expect.
A few revisions is fair, but anything close to what you're suggesting is taking advantage.
I always try and be as positive as possible yet firm. I have also worked with clients where I have gone above and beyond, way over the budget and time to just try and please them.
Sometimes you just have to cut your losses. Just say 'It's been great to work with you, but we have gone over budget and time, we have respectively honored our agreement, and gone beyond to help you. However, now it's impacting our business. We need to settle on our recent amends or negotiate more time to spend on the project.'

Criticism is better than no response from your audience lol I found out all of my subscribers were haters since I started taking editing a little more serious. My own unique style and I'm always left desperately wanting to know if I should just quit or die after each edit. So I'm taking your AE courses so I don't have to be left wondering anymore, And become Master 👏

Hey I think you have done a great job with the video. I think it will be a make a great influence on new aspiring designers and give them a great start. I have a question that I have been trying to get answers for. The following are: what licence(s) you need for font(s) to use for a logo design that you can sell to a client? Can you give links to fonts that have these licence(s) to download? If I would like to start a business in the future selling logos and typefaces would I need to get a business licence? The videos on your channels I have seen are to me are of high quality. I wish you for the best for your RUclips channel and career.

Thank you . I have a question which is literally driving me crazy ! How do I permanently deactivate standard ligatures when typing because it messes up my "t"s and "f"s and I have to manually remove the effect every time I write a word which contains either of these two letters. THANK YOU
