Colorado River Whitewater Rafting 2011

“Hang on” he yelled-we gripped the ropes as the wave, an ominous wall ten to twelve feet above us emerged and our raft dipped into the swale then dug into the wave. Allen landed in my lap, one of his water shoes missing. We were soaked but we survived Crystal Rapids-by mistake. Our guide’s goal was to navigate us around the wave to experience the rapids-his misstep landed us in a rapid rated 9 or 10 on the Colorado River.
