      I hope so too! Fascinating birds!! I’d never heard of Great Bustards until today - the Great Bustard is the featured bird on National Audubon Society’s 2023 bird of the day calendar 😊. Thanks for a great video!

    We want to bring this birds back to Romania..they used to be in the thousand's here...but they got hunted to extinction

      In Poland too. In 1930 bustards used to be very common, but they turned extinct since 1986.

    Is it legal to keep pet Great Bustards? I'd love to have these as pets on my small farm as pets, walking around my fields.

      No. They're endangered birds due to the constant regression of their habitat, it doesn't help that they're poisoned by the use of pesticides too. I guess the dedicated bustard owner of this interview has a license.

      There are probably a little more than 26000 individuals in the world actually, mainly in Spain and Russia. UK has approximately 100 of them. This bird prefers vast meadows and steppes. As many countries like France choose to reforest their reserve, the bustard tend to disappear.

      I am no expert as I filmed this on site. Google says the males can go to 16 KG! Females smaller.
