Whole wave of super dope legitimate Hip-Hop bar’ed up emcees in the UK who were making noise yearsssss before Dizzee… Task Force, Jehst, Poisonous Poets, Klashnekoff, Kyza, Phi Life Cypher, Mystro, Rodney P, Fallacy, Malik MD7, Skinnyman, etc., etc., etc… At the time when Dizzee came out he was moreso in the garage/grime lane which in the UK was considered damn near completely separate from the actual Hip-Hop scene… I’d say Sonny and Juganaut are the two best current UK rappers, but if you that’s the first British real Hip-Hop you’ve heard, then it’s definitely worth digging deeper into the vaults.
Known who sonnyjim was for a minute but just recently really got into checking out his music & this man is elite. Both with the bars and the beats
