To avoid that extra space, you should try and mess with the order of the modifiers, it helps!

I have a problem that with the more advanced ruffles, they don't revolve in a circle or really around my object at all.. they are just sort of in a swirl above my object... and im new to blender so I have no idea what's going on and how to fix this or what I did wrong...

also it might be worth mentioning that my object is a circle! (im making a parasol)

@@AschePlays circles are a bit different! but it's a really easy fix, in the modifiers under curve theres a deform axis, change it to Y hope this helps!
