This is a bit of a shorter video just showing the crossings on the Mernda line which are scheduled for removal. There are 4 crossings right now on LXRA's list of removal.
    Oakover Rd, Preston:
This crossing isn't very busy, I'm pretty sure they only added this to the list to get another one out of the way since they could include it in the removal of Bell St. This crossing is one of two crossings with hybrid bells on the Mernda line, and is an all Westinghouse Setup. This crossing had one black and white wishbone gate a few years ago
    Bell St, Preston:
One of the busiest crossings in all of Melbourne. Makes a lot of sense why it is on the removal list. This crossing has a seemingly normal setup, but makes it a bit interesting with some bits and pieces being McK&H equipment (gates, bases and some crossarms on the median signals), this crossing also has a Westinghouse gate mech. Other than that, the crossing has all LEDs and General Signals e bells, Type 1 Adjusted.
    Cramer St, Preston:
Generally not too busy. Probably also on the list because of it's proximity to Murray Rd. This crossing is the only one on the line with McK&H lights, it also has some Westinghouse ones. It has Siemens gate mechs, McK&H and Westinghouse bases and McK&H crossarms as well as General Signals type 2 e bells. It also has Westinghouse pedestrian gates.
    Murray Rd, Preston:
This one is a lot more busier and has more reason to being on the removal list. This crossing has a pretty standard setup with all newer equipment. It has LEDs with Westinghouse and McK&H crossarms, a Siemens and a Safetran gate mech, McK&H bases as well as a General Signals Type 1 Adjusted e bell, and a General Signals Type 3 e bell. I have also filmed this crossing when it had two Westinghouse hybrid bells.
All these crossings are expected to be removed by 2023

Nice video! Sad to see them removed but happy about all the new areas it will create

Great video, very nice crossings, sad they’re getting removed. Oakover Road does seem pointless as it doesn’t get congested.

It’s because our government is stupid. Why not put Warrigal road, Mentone. Or the very high priority Madden grove, Burnley
