  • Klaipeda is an important port on the Baltic Sea and the third largest city of Lithuania. It was a German town until the end of World War II, and aftewards fell under the Soviet domain. Following the fall of the Communism, Klaipeda gradually depopulated. Now it looks like inhabited only by women... Or it's just my impression??
According to statistics, in Klaipeda the female population exceeds more than 20% of the male one.

The description is definitely incorrect, Klaipėda was a "German" city only for a short part of its history, for the longest time it was a city within the borders of the Polish Republic and Lithuenian, short periods were also under French rule, and the Soviet period. In the almost 1000-year history of the settlement and the city of Klaipėda, the German period covers all the years in total about 200 years. Germany has the ugly feature of verifying facts depending on its propaganda and economic needs, the occupation and pillage of areas appropriated by them by force should not necessarily be called "German territories".

By saying "Germany" I simplified, because I should have mentioned Prussia, Baltic Prussia, Teutonic order, Duchy of Prussia, etcetera etcetera. But I also mentioned that the city was always contended by Poland, Lithuania, Russia...
