very effective side by side comparison of tonality of the maple and rosewood necks. The all rosewood sounds brighter with more punch than the maple, almost too much for my liking. I believe the all maple is tonally more balanced. thank you
Rosewood has harmonic overtones, and snappy. The maple emphasizes the fundamental note more. I'd like the rosewood neck with a pickup works with it's tone.
I’m gonna be the contrarian here, I like the rosewood better. I agree it’s a bit brighter (deeper too though) and less balanced, but it just has a different character that I really like.
I have to agree with the others that maple sounds nicer but I wonder how much it is because that's what we are used to hearing as the traditional strat sound, so that's what we are most comfortable with? Just to check something else, I also listened at random points and without looking, I tried to guess which neck it is. I could still hear the difference and pick them but somehow it seemed much less pronounced, so I suppose, to a degree it's psychological. 😄 Seeing the different fretboard plays a trick on the mind and amplifies that difference in the sound. At least, in the mind!
I don’t think it can be this easily summed up if you prescribe to the notion of tone woods. I have an am pro with all rosewood neck and it’s gone through two pup swaps and still think it’s my darkest and most fundamental focused strat. All my strats are set up similarly with string heights, pup heights and floating trems and it’s still my darkest

I have one with Lollar Blondes that seems to blend very nicely

definitely a different character and I think every strat guy wouldn't mind having one on the rack.

Good back to back Review! Where did you get the all rosewood neck from?
