Great vids - I am one of those 4 wheelers with almost 60 years on the road. Always did respect and drive around the big rigs as you have suggested numerous times. An getting so used to your driving that I am now turning wide around corners just like you do. Have a great day and keep on truckin.

Mike nice to watch the move! I was a yard bird for over a year in Boston large trucking co.back when you had to no how to DRIVE and on the road for several years when you not only drove your truck but the one in front and behind you nothing like I see out there today!!! Excellent parking. Love your new little friend shaking her hips like that. An oldish Truck could be an answer. Worth a ponder that's for sure. Thankyou. ✌

Used to drive from Santa Cruz to San Berdoo to visit my dad. Hated 'dropping' down into that basket of Smog on 15/215. Even with crazy Sunday driving, it was always a great feeling to climb up Cajon and into the clean air and blue sky.

Those aren't tomato trucks. It is Tri-valley Transport but for the tomatoes we got were in plastic tubs with no tarps. Hey James show the whole pick up drop off going through California the Cajon pass , then the drive through 15 Barstow to the switch over onto the 93 north. I would like to see the lights near whisky Pete’s then how you make your trip to Colorado I’m in NM.
I’ve been at a traffic light in the left turn lane. I will notice a semi to my right that wants to turn in front of me. In other words, he’s turning left. I check my mirror and nobody behind me and I back up a car length and a half., When he turns, I’ll get a friendly wave. Always glad to help especially on narrow streets or when cars are parked making the turn for the truck a lot tighter. Same with lane changes. Trucker will have his turn signals wanting to change lanes. No one lets them in. I let off the gas and flash lights letting them know they can go. Don’t know if flashing lights is legal anymore but I don’t really care. Makes my day when they flash their tail lights in appreciation.
MM Mike - I understand the value of of those pre 2000 trucks has risen substantially. I was given the option 3 years ago to trade back wages of $21k for the 1998 379 Pete (3406E Cat, 18 speed, 750k miles) I drove for many years. At the time I thought what in the world - would I do with that truck? I am retired! I have been kicking - Mr Stupid here - for the past 2 years, I could have easily doubled my money if only I would have entertained the offer and thought about it!! Stupid me!!
Great job parking at the warehouse door! I could not accomplish that feat, because I do not see with both eyes at the same time. That hampers my depth perception.

Those guys are not hauling tomato this time of year, but they are the same drivers. I have hauled tomato and I can tell you, some really shitty drivers. Maybe 5 out of a hundred are decent drivers, the rest don't give a shit about anything, safety, don't inspect their trailers properly etc.
With all due respect, what is the reasoning that ELD's cause more accidents? Wouldn't forcing professional drivers to not be able to run "two log books," or other ways of cheating the system to drive more hours, cause LESS accidents? Again, JUST an inquiry. Not looking to pick a fight. . .!!
Most people just have no clue about how dangerous the elogs can be. I drove OTR using paper logs for 25 years. Yes, i drove alot more and made alot of money, but i never drove tired. If i became tired, i simply pulled off at a rest area or truckstop. The only reason most of us used 2 logbooks was due to delays at the shippers or receivers. You lose alot of on duty time at shippers. With these elogs, it causes drivers to "race" against the clock! Every minute counts. It causes drivers to rush and make poor judgements. Also, say you are used to shutting down and sleeping at night, but you were delayed at a shipper long enough to reset your clock, but you couldn't shut down and sleep in broad daylight and with noise going on at the shipping docks, and then bang! Your clock now resets and allows you to drive your 11 hours now but you haven't slept. Dispatch sends you out to drive either loaded from that shipper or sends you to pickup another load since you now have a fresh 14 hour clock with 11 hours available to drive although you have not slept. This is a dangerous combination. Delays at the shippers are what is causing these probems and it forces drivers to drive either tired or due to traffic, bad weather, and shipper delays, puts drivers under the gun and a race against the clock to get loads delivered on time.
@24:15 always hated driving that stretch of 15 slower truckers not caring to stay in the R (slow) lane. It's been couple of decades since I drove commercial but wow has trucker etiquette fallen by the way side.
