Absolutely loved Sips’ jealous anger towards Lewis’ holiday . Can tell they’re such good friends it’s hilarious 😂 - plus his off topic rant as usual was glorious 😫😂😂 - plus plus the attack towards the audience was hilarious 😂😂😂 Might be my favourite episode now
Don't look up being described by the general public as "Being about space" pretty much sums up the point the film is trying to make 🤣The average person being so turned off by the actual important issues and "Just clicking on stuff".
18:20 glad what sips said there, even the price of rent is crazy where I’m from their asking 1,500 for a room, a shared house. Gen z jsut waiting for the house market 😂
Property prices are going up so high because corporations are buying property to rent it out. When you see an apartment for 350k, your average single young adult will never afford it, but a bank or corporation will happily buy it because they know that they have a monopoly on rent control and it will certainly turn a profit.
I can't speak to anything across the pond but my parents live in the vacation land part of New Hampshire and the housing crisis there is caused by increasing land value bought up by hotel conglomerates who then turn these houses into Air B&B places (since these are unregulated accommodations and are vastly cheaper to run and maintain than the equivalent square footage regulated hotel/motel/actual B&B) leaving few places to purchase or rent and the places that are available are priced well outside the pocket books of the people who work in the service industry which make up the vast majority of employment opportunities in the area. Even if you get a great service job that pays really well chances are good that you are not going to be able to afford anything other than some dingy trailer park tucked away from the main centers of commerce. Since NH has no state sales tax on anything other than food the area's employment opportunities boil down to service jobs that don't pay enough or contracting and adjacent jobs like plumber or electrician which require specialized skills and even some of them are being pushed out by the property taxes, which are extremely high to make up for lost sales tax revenue. Most of these municipalities are struggling to keep big multi nationals from buying all the available homes and finding that their town and county level regulatory powers are not sufficient to keep them out and allow locals to live there. It's a real mess that has very negatively colored my view of Air B&B as a good idea in theory but in practice it's vastly cheaper for a multinational to buy a house and covert it to what is essentially an unregulated unzoned hotel that might be right in the middle of a residential community. The resulting problem of the occasional unruly guests that cause problems in an otherwise quiet community cause natives and existing residents to eventually move out and then the multinationals come in and buy those adjacent properties as well creating a kind snowballing problem for communities who might have one or two law enforcement officers who's previous job was to see that Bubba the local drunk got home safe and now have to deal with whatever problems may arise for thousands of out of area people who could have been kicked out of a hotel by the management but are now just essentially unsupervised. While the majority of guests are still just people who want to chill and have a nice time in a beautiful area there are enough assholes that come in that it puts a real strain on locals and local law enforcement. It's a real problem that doesn't have a clear solution.
Funny thing about Hustle is the a large portion of it was filmed where I’m staying in Philly and I got to meet/see Adam Sandler. Pretty cool since I grew up with his movies.
I totally agree on Lewis's view on religion, i live in Turkey and in the last 20 years it feels like the majority is becoming empty minded religious fanatics. Which actually pushes the actual muslim people away from the religion by finally making them realize that being a fanatic of anything is not good, it just turns you in to a stupid drone that religious organizations can easily use for anything. It's literally a way for the people who have no contribution to their society to be "respected" or being imagined as a person who worths a damn. Now i know religion is super important for many people but the most important part of religion is that it should stay between the god you worship and you, nothing more. But it's super dangerous because it is literally in it's core to spread and effect the way people live, think and act. Which also turns it in to a super weapon for politicians to use against the religious folk and easily sway their opinion on anything. People are starting to open their eyes towards the dangers of this in Turkey i believe, and hopefully we will cleanse our political and judicial side from religion and become a lot more open-minded and progressive country as a whole. -Thank you for listening to my Ted Talk lol.
Investment in a wide portfolio is almost guaranteed to make you money in the long term but you have to be ready to let it sit through leaner times - At least 10 years. It is also important to invest since it increases economic activity in the area you invest - which should be somewhat local - increasing the wealth of your whole society. Though, tbf, having your money in the bank already guarantees that a majority of that money is invested into loans, usually mortgages, so it is fine as long as you do not just hide a huge cash reserve under your bed or something.
The rant about bitcoin kinda lost me when pyrion went in on the stock market and investing in general. Retirement funds, dividend stocks and index funds are reliable ways to make money threw stock investments. Over the last 20 or so years a lot of the most popular index funds have returned around 8% / year. A lot of the reason for wealth inequality Is because money makes money. People with money can afford to invest, investing in the stock market isn't a scam.
I get what he's trying to say, but he's basically painting all of investing with the pyramid/mlm scheme brush. Obviously there are a lot of those out there but there are a ton of smart plays you can make in any market. Bitcoin is also the best performing asset over the last 12 years and it's not even close. He's going to be very confused in the next few years when the markets are back in another bull cycle and everything is hitting new all time highs
43:18 just please, fundamental islamic teaching is not sexist. Terrorists are, they are in the minority, dont denounce all of islam because of them or because other religions (catholicism was mentioned) may be sexist to your perception. Please no, feels islamophobic man.
As an atheist, some of the smartest and thoughtful people I have encountered have been religious. Blanketing people who don’t see the world and existence the same as you as ‘idiots’ is in fact, ironically, very idiotic.
As a religious person I was disappointed by the discourse too. There are plenty of bad actors, con artists, and hateful people in any group. To suggest it's all a scam on stupid people is incredibly ignorant, and ironic coming from a leader of a company that prides itself on inclusion. Can't say I'm not kind of bummed by this whole episode. Thank you for your comment, hope you are doing well.
I don't think they were ever exactly avoiding politics and I don't think they're going to stop just cuz you have a problem with it either, I don't completely agree with or appreciate everything they say but I enjoy the show and I enjoy that they can talk about what they want, if you're not enjoying the show anymore maybe you've grown out of it
Everyone is buying houses because they've accepted that the price is what it is and because of that the prices keep going up. Would have thought we'd get a market crash since Russians were banned from dealing in Europe but it seems they've all converted to Ukrainian instead
It's actually nuts how expensive real estate has gotten in big populated areas. I live in a small city in Atlantic Canada and I just bought a well maintained 3 bed 2 bath house with a good sized fenced in backyard last year for 175k CAD (~130 Euro). It's less than a 10 minute drive to downtown. The same house in the Toronto area would be going for over a million easy. Don't know about Europe, but houses are still very affordable in NA if you're willing to move outside the major metro areas.
I as an American an incredibly upset about the Roe v Wade overturning, I already come from one of the most crime ridden cities in the entire country, and with Tennessee allowing open firearm carry without a license and now this, it may be funny over in England to imagine a judge Dread like future for America but I've seen dead bodies laying in gutters, I've been living in Spain last 10 months and in the time I've been here I feel like my entire country's been swept out from under me and I'm not keen on going back
Yeah because bowing down to the cults of blm and lgbt trans rights activists is and cancel culture nuts is a huge step up from people who believe in god
pyrion is just mad he didn't get in to bitcoin when it was 10$ a pop so am I tbh, I had 1btc back then, bought a month's subscription to some shit with it could have sat on it and made 60k, fuuuuck
Man... Working hard and being good gets you good things. When you have guns to protect your good things, you are able to keep them... Be good because you can be man
I’ll have you know I mined dogecoin in 2014 for $25 in electricity. Musk hype netted me $5k. Still have half the coins I mined but got greedy. Was waiting for $0.9 then it crashed at $0.7 didn’t get it sold until $0.44
He has for a while now. He doesn’t bring it up much he mentioned it like 100 episodes ago or more. He did as well say specifically that he doesn’t mention her much because he wants a part of his life that isn’t involved in YOGS.
while saying you have to get at the bottom might be scammish thinking, that is pretty much the only way you can hit it big. because once it starts taking off youve already missed your chance and now you will feel pressured to buy it at the top, resulting in you actually scamming urself. shit coins are shit coins and everyone of them are ran by shit heads looking for investors like in the real world. imagine living the days where u were trading ~$100 btc and it was already a thing that was catching on
I had a lot to say in response to this but I realized my entire response to you was based on a false premise so never mind, I'll just say I disagree, the concept of Islam does not innately respect or disrespect anything the people who practice it will practice it in many ways
Pyrion talks alot of shit on this podcast and most of it is laughable, but to say 8 mile is "garbage" a movie that got an oscar and told a rough story of one of the best rappers of all time.
