This is an unrelated question... but do you know of any bully stick brands that are safe? I’m thinking of giving my puppy a bully stick for the first time and I want to know your opinion!
Pawsome tips! I would just add to incrementally increase the overnight times. What I mean is if you’re taking your puppy out every 4 hours overnight, then if that’s going well, increase it to 4 hours 15 minutes, then 4-1/2 hours & so on till your puppy is sleeping longer. Every puppy is different, of course, but my 15-week-old puppy sleeps up to 9 hours a night with no accidents or whining.
I followed you method when potty training my puppy and now she is great about it!! Thank you so much your made the process much less daunting to a new puppy mom.
I watched one of your videos about potty training before I got my puppy, and it's been much better than expected! It's been two weeks and we are still taking him out every half hour. The ~5 accidents were my fault thinking that "it feels too soon." Also learned if he was playing or chewing and is suddenly distracted to sniff, he needs to go. He's almost 10 weeks and waiting at the door. Not quite using the doorbell, but we'll get there!
I have been working my way through your videos to prepare for our puppy (who came home today!) and I have to say, this potty training advice is GOLD. It’s now 10pm on day 1 and our 8 week old puppy hasn’t had a single accident in the house *all day*! It took her a couple tries for her to figure out what we wanted her to do on that patch of grass, but once she figured it out & we praised her, she now does her business every hour when we take her out. Thank you so much for helping us get her off to a great start. Also loved your “crate is Disneyland” advice & have been working on that today too. Absolutely love your videos!! Thank you!
MCU but i have online class😐 im afraid i cant take care of him but it csn play with my lil sis she. Is 7 so its fine but my mom dint believe me i can potty train a dog
My children both have been diagnosed with cancer. My daughter has since finished treatment and is doing well. My son has leukemia and was nearing the end of treatment but unfortunately has relapsed. I have struggled with PTSD and have been working with several professionals and ultimately decided to get a service puppy. Our puppy is a golden doodle and we will be bringing her home in the next week.9 weeks. The hospital staff is aware of her service dog in training status and is excited for us to bring her. In your opinion is it confusing to use both puppy potty pads while in the hospital for treatments as well as lots of outside potty time? I realize as a puppy she can’t always hold her bladder but also realize there are just some times where taking her outside isn’t always possible. Thank you for your time and can’t wait to keep learning all the best tips you graciously continue to share.
I’ve been binge watching all of your puppy training videos and will start implementing your helpful tips ASAP on my 9 week old Jack Russell Terrier. I’ve had him since he was 6 weeks old and it’s been pretty chaotic, he’s a smart sweet puppy we’ll start from scratch I’m positive we can get better with your helpful tips. Thank you
Hi @RachelFusaro, I love your videos, they are so motivating….and just adopted a puppy and I can say we have survived the 1st 48 hours. And the puppy “joy”(which we named him) is just 9 weeks old…
Getting an 8 week old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in 2-1/2 months. Scared and excited, this will be our first dog. We're retired and have thoroughly researched the breed which seems like an excellent fit for our lifestyle. I'm binging your videos in preparation.
I’ve been binge watching your videos and they are so helpful! My family is adopting a golden doodle and we’re bringing him home on Halloween (he’ll be around 9 weeks). We have a cat, so the first video I watched of yours was about introducing a puppy to a cat! :) thanks for the tips!
I just started crying because I’m so stressed. I’ve been taking my puppy out every hour and rewarding him, but he still goes inside. No one else is helping me and I’m just so tired! 😭💔
Thank you for your videos, they are such a help since it's been awhile since I've had a puppy around. My daughter got a puppy and I have been helping train and care for her while she is at work. Your delivery and personality accompanied by such concentrated information has made a huge difference! I have two older German shepherds and the male is not accepting her into our pack. I appreciate you and I want to thank you again for taking the time to make these helpful videos. Be safe, be happy.
Thank You! Coming from the punish your dog for accidents inside, 20 years ago. I now have my first lab in 10 years. I am older and more responsible now, (why your dog is taking so long to potty train) and have realized that is ridiculous. We got our lab yesterday, Piper, she is 6 weeks old. Thought we had to wait another week but... anyhow, she has a nice playpen and will have crate tomorrow. What you have taught us in the last 24 hours has already came to fruition. Wife brought Piper to sisters house. While there, she actually cried by the door to go out. This is about 30 hours of having a schedule and rewarding and working with her. Having a feeding schedule and knowing when she has to go is the big deal. Don't ever yell at your dog, bad things will happen..
This is the 3rd video of yours I've watched ... getting my 10 week Cavy on Saturday! Wish I'd known this 20 yr ago with my 1st! He did awesome given my lack! Thank you!
My Papillon puppy is almost 4 weeks old! Need be patient for another 4 weeks, before getting him... My greatest problem potty training will be my mothers (by that time) 18 week old Papillon puppy, we share a yard and he is almost always in the yard, so convincing my puppy to go potty instead of playing with each other will be hard!
On Tuesday my parents told me I could get a puppy for my birthday!!!!(yay) And my birthday is tomorrow so when I get my puppy I know how to potty train it!
I just got a 7 week old miniature schnauzer. Working with potty pads for now because she is so young. Enjoy your videos. Just trying to do things right. It’s night she didn’t sleep well as I expected
My puppy will be 8 weeks old when I get her in 5 weeks. Not my first Yorkie, have owned them for over 47yrs. I have used many of your techniques for potty training and they work! I have never crate trained before and want to this time so I have been watching your videos on that. I really enjoy them and think you do a great job at teaching people to train their dogs. And I have switched my big dog to raw foods. I will be giving my puppy raw foods also. So glad I found your videos! Thank you!!!
Thank you so much! I am getting my puppy in July and I am so excited! I have been on a spree just watching all of your puppy videos! They have helped me so much, without you I would be so lost in what to train them how to train them ect. But thanks to you this process had been so amazing!
We’ll be getting a 9 1/2 week puppy the fourth week of July! I’m trying to soak in everything and love your product recommendations as well. Thank you Rachel!
Rachel Fusaro I’m making my way thru all your vids, and thank you for highlighting this! BTW - I have to tell you I went to Trader Joe’s to buy the Artichoke Jalapeño dip after you showed it in your vid a couple wks back 😂 It’s sooo good! I try to eat it with 🥦 to keep it clean but the tortilla chips keep callin’ 🤦🏻♀️
I'm getting an 8 week old mini doxie next month. This is literally my 5th dog. My current dog is a rescue and she was potty trained when I got her - thankfully. I have such a hard time with potty training and I live in a tiny upstairs apartment.
Currently getting an 8 week puppy. Seeking a video on how you introduced your cat to the puppy. We are going to introducing a puppy to 3 adult cats :/ Only 1 has been around a dog so this will be new for the others.
My puppy will be 10 weeks old when we get him. He is a Pomchi X and such a sweet little boy. Your videos are so inspirational, and I really appreciate you for helping me be a better dog Mom
Just got my 12wk Schnauzer pup today. Its been 2yrs since i had to put my Dobie to sleep. I finally got up the strength to pour my love into another fur baby. I learned alot training my dobie but never trained him on a puppy pad. This is definitely a change since the new pup will be an indoor dog but I'm up for this adventure. I love your videos and can't wait for the results. ❤❤❤
Rachel, thank you so much for these tips--we are struggling! We have a 4.5 mo. old pup who is making it through the night and will alert us when she has to go #2 outside, but is continuously having accidents with #1. One of my major questions is for condo building living, for the sake of potty training and consistency should we stick with ONLY either taking her out on the balcony OR taking her downstairs outside every time, or can we still alternate between the two? I want to do what is best for her, but can definitely relate to not being able to take her all the way downstairs every hour or so.
5 month old mini labradoodle Me and my daughters first personally owned dog! Super nervous they’ve been around dogs all there life from the grandparents but I have not. Though all my friends have had dogs. I LOVE ALL OF YOUR VIDEOS!!
I will be picking up my Morkie soon, at 8 weeks. The breeder litter box trains the puppies before he sends them home. As a senior, I really am going to appreciate this!
My toy poodle will be 2 months old when I get him in the dead of winter with snow in January. I can't imagine taking him outside in freezing temps. I'm thinking of potty pad training him and then when it's warm enough outside, retrain to go outdoors. Your videos are so helpful !!
LOVE your videos! My puppy is 8 weeks and I live in an upstairs apartment so I've been training him on a pee pad in the bathroom. Today is his second day with me and he has already gone 5 times on his own by using positive reinforcement. I'm super happy and proud. However, I do have an outside small patio space which is where I'm thinking I should move his potty pad to, just so when I do live somewhere else thats more accessible to the outdoors, he is used to going outside. My question is: am I able to keep the one in the bathroom and also have him go outside ? or should I keep it to one place to not confuse him. He goes a lot, especially number 2, and he's had diarrhea so I'm afraid if the pad isn't close enough to the room he will continue to poop on the ground.
I’d stand up and walk away, or turn my body. I have had a foster puppy that did that. I’d just remove myself immediately and when he had all 4 paws on ground I rewarded with treats, play & praise
Hey! Rachel I have a question I live near Atlanta and can't find any puppies :( do you have any idea where to look for them at? (btw your videos are super helpful!)
If you want a certain breed you should check out different breeders which are usually not always close so you would either have to go pick up the puppy or ask the breeder about the method of transportation. But it is also as great as checking out a shelter so you could adopt an animal which will bring more space for another animal to be saved. Good luck finding your new family member!
Getting our french bulldog puppy in four weeks…trying to learn as much before hand and get ready. Great advice from you , very reassuring… Paula. In the UK
My wife and I recently adopted two 9wk old female Rottweiler pups on 12/11/20 one is gift to my in laws who have raised Rottweiler for years and the other is a gift to my wife from me and boy our potty training journey has be tough but it’s not without it’s rewards. We’ve been following your advice and we’re both correcting all our wrong doings but I know it’s still early to celebrate and we have a long ways to go but we’re not going to quit thanks for sharing your knowledge!!
@@RachelFusaro hmmm actually I watched so many of your puppy training videos today - non stop. That was funny thought when you said "Bravo!" :) I take the opportunity to thank you... really.
We have a male Havapoo and he enjoys his treats!! We’re trying to use clicker training with him but sometimes he’s so engrossed with what he’s doing outside he doesn’t even notice when we click it while going potty. We try to use lots of praise and affection as well as his favorite toys as alternatives to treats.
Thanks for this information. I'm about to get a 7-month-old Havanese and I'm going to use these tips along with your older video about the First Night crate.
This video has been a big help to us! We have a 13 week old poodle, and have had her for about 2 weeks. She caught onto the concept of going outside pretty quick, but we've had some regression recently. That first week, we barely had any indoor accidents, and now recently it's up to at least one a day. I feel like we aren't doing anything different, but we've decreased the amount of time between potty trips, and that seems to be helping. Still having accidents, though. Thankfully she has never gone in her crate or at night, so glad for that. We've started keeping her on the leash all the time when she's not crated so it's easy to get her outside quickly. Hoping we get back on track soon.
you probably won't see this but i've been preparing for my puppy for a month and a half and i've watched every one of your videos on puppies to the point where i just keep looking up the same questions to make sure i know stuff and i click straight at you and just rewatch your videos
Rachel, you are the female dog whisperer! I tried hack #2 on my 10-week old puppy, praising her while urinating midstream on the potty pad and she now goes on the pad and when I see her sniffing around, I take her outside, and now she goes potty in the backyard! Thank you so much for sharing this incredible information!
my puppy will be 13 weeks when I get her on 7th August and I really don't know how much her previous parents have done for her thus far...it's nerve wracking but I'm excited :)
I know that this video was made a year ago but looking back at this helps me learn so much more, because even though I am not a pet parent and I do not have a dog yet, I can still learn for when I get a dog I can be ready. BTW Thank you so much for all these amazing videos. I hope that you can accomplish your dream of saving all the rescue dogs. And may God keep on blessing you, because you are helping all these people to do what is right, thank you!!! 😊
Thanks for the helpful video. My puppy is 11.5 weeks and being delivered at 9:30 tonight. I plan to keep his crate in the living room and i was going to crash on the couch so i could get up with him overnight. Will use your tips and see how quickly i can graduate back to my bed overnight.
I could cry I am so happy I found this video a week before we get our little chocolate cocker spaniel who is 8weeks old!!!! Thank you so so much Rachel you are a blessing!!!
Getting my puppy in 17 days and I am currently binge watching all your videos and they are so informative thank you so much I can’t wait to bring my shorkie home 🥺
I don’t know if you can change it or not(and I hope you don’t see this as me being rude) but puppies taken away from their litter before they’re 7 weeks old are more likely to develop temperamental problems further down the line. So just be sure to adopt your cute dood after the 7 week mark!! Goldendoodles are great, I hope you have an amazing time with your pup😄😊
Getting our Jack Russell puppy tomorrow! He will be about 8 weeks old and we are SO excited to add him to our family! I've been binging your videos like crazy - thank you so much for sharing your wealth of puppy/dog training expertise!
I’m getting a Red Merle Standard Australian Shepherd he’ll be 8 weeks when we pick him up🥰 I’m so excited I’ve already bought most essentials but still soo much more to get!!
Thank you much. Its currently cold in my city and he cried when we were outside. I set up a pee pad in the bathroom and he used it perfectly!! It does make me worried that I'm not going to be able to train him as when it gets warm outdoors
So thankful for you!

Thank you! Look up rescue groups in your city. Example: “goldendoodle rescue Atlanta” and start there❤️
Unknown ? Thank you!
Rachel Fusaro Omg! I didn’t think you’d reply :D and thank you for the help!
Almost 3 months. Thanks for your help
My 8 weeks mini poodle coming home today 😊❤
Getting our french bulldog puppy in four weeks…trying to learn as much before hand and get ready. Great advice from you , very reassuring… Paula. In the UK
Picking up our 8 week old puppy this Saturday the 8th. Very informative video. Thanks
Love, when at @9:50 you were positive rewarding me.
Love that you made it to 9:50 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@RachelFusaro hmmm actually I watched so many of your puppy training videos today - non stop. That was funny thought when you said "Bravo!" :) I take the opportunity to thank you... really.
Havapoo~12 weeks. Have been binge watching all your videos!!! Thank you so much~you're amazing!
I have a Havapoo also!
@@samanthakifer1119 Hi~ She's adorable and really smart but not food motivated. Are you having the same issue?
We have a male Havapoo and he enjoys his treats!! We’re trying to use clicker training with him but sometimes he’s so engrossed with what he’s doing outside he doesn’t even notice when we click it while going potty. We try to use lots of praise and affection as well as his favorite toys as alternatives to treats.
You are the BEST. Have you considered having a TV show to reach even more people?
Preparing to get a puppy haven’t got him yet, your videos are very helpful
Wow, you are like a dog Goddess. I now don't feel scared about potty training my pup! :)

🙏

Thanks for the helpful video. My puppy is 11.5 weeks and being delivered at 9:30 tonight. I plan to keep his crate in the living room and i was going to crash on the couch so i could get up with him overnight. Will use your tips and see how quickly i can graduate back to my bed overnight.

Abby that’s amazing!!! Congrats
Rachel Fusaro thanks!
4 months Thank you very helpful info
i’ll be adopting a 6-7 week old goldendoodle in about a month and i can’t wait! your videos are super helpful
