You're right and they may still but you have to remember that the early days of Sam and Alexis were pretty fraught with strife and resentment. Their relationship was really hard fought for, which made it that much more special but might not necessarily make for the best montage.
You can't compare this with Morgan's death because it's Sonny and Carly's choices that led to Morgan being blown up, and Alexis knows this. Sam's death was not Alexis' fault. This should be Diane comforting Alexis, not Sonny. All this is using Sam's death for Sonny, Carly, and Jason to soak up more airtime and be portrayed as the only sympathetic people in town. Give me a break, that's not who they are. Leave the family to grieve. It's because of Sonny that Alexis had to spend weeks in prison when Sam was desperately trying to get her out.
Yes, but this is Frank's world and any story that can be used to add to the screen time of his pets will always be played out that way. I mean at least with Jason there's an excuse but as per usual we don't even get to see Jason spending time with his grieving son. Nope, instead we have to suffer through Carly being the one to sit with Danny as he sorts through Scout's Halloween candy while Jason ran off to play hero for someone other than his son. I mean God forbid Jason should take off his jacket and sit down with his son and talk to him about what a good brother he is and maybe share some of his memories about the way he used to take care of his sister rather than running off to save a woman he's barely ever said 2 words to on behalf of a woman he's known for about 2 seconds.

Why can't they do older flashbacks of Samlexis--and a montage like Jasam got? They have a long history too.
