    I was in elementary school when someone motioned our teacher to leave the room. When she came back she was crying. Only time I ever saw a teacher cry. She told us we were leaving school early and had no homework. Barry asked why? I was confident he would ask as that was his way, questioned everything; this time I was happy to have a Barry in class. Mrs Steppenwolf told us the President had been assassinated. He was dead.
    A lot of us were military brats and on the bus the older ones openly discussed how this could affect our dads. War was even mentioned. My dad had been on a remote duty for months. I was looking forward to him coming home and didn’t want him to have to stay away even longer especially at war. Funny how our lives as kids gave us different perspectives of this horrendous event in history.

    Back then, although 20 years had passed since he had been killed it seemed like 50 years had gone by because so nany things had happened in the interim.

    In Memory of JFK : O Captain! My Captain!
    BY WALT WHITMAN
    O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done,
    The ship has weather’d every rack, the prize we sought is won,
    The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
    While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring;
    But O heart! heart! heart!
    O the bleeding drops of red,
    Where on the deck my Captain lies,
    Fallen cold and dead.
    O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells;
    Rise up-for you the flag is flung-for you the bugle trills,
    For you bouquets and ribbon’d wreaths-for you the shores a-crowding,
    For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning;
    Here Captain! dear father!
    This arm beneath your head!
    It is some dream that on the deck,
    You’ve fallen cold and dead.
    My Captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still,
    My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will,
    The ship is anchor’d safe and sound, its voyage closed and done,
    From fearful trip the victor ship comes in with object won;
    Exult O shores, and ring O bells!
    But I with mournful tread,
    Walk the deck my Captain lies,
    Fallen cold and dead.

    ..... LBJ, Dulles/Helms/Angleton, Hoover, James Rowley, Kellerman, Greer, Connelly & the Cabell brothers, Marcello, Gienconna, Ruby & then LHO. All involved but LBJ, Hoover, Dulles & Angleton were at the top of the operation. LHO was the patsy, the fall guy & Ruby was tasked (and paid) with eliminating him ASAP

    Lol. I’m glad Jack Schlossberg doesn’t have the Kennedy last name. He doesn’t deserve it after what that impulsive brat did to RFK Jr. -a storied and accomplished environmental lawyer. Key quote: “a quick note that they did not swim the full three miles. Instead they swam just under a mile.”
