When it comes to rockcrawling, the lighter the rig, the easier it will be to roll over boulders. While full competition buggys have come a long way over the years, we’re now seeing that tech flow over into the recreation side of the hobby. A great example of this can be found with the Vice Unlimited-built buggy you see here.
Building a competition ready rock crawler buggy, started at the heart. 2.4L ecotec engine paired, to a 2 speed power glide with a 3.8:1 Atlas.
Vice unlimited chose this set up due to the weight savings along with the power. 200hp out of a 2.4L is perfect for crawling over rocks when paired with a 3,000lb buggy.
We sat down with builder Tim Odell as he talks us through the challenges and benefits of building a lightweight crawler.
Wow very cool.
You make some great content, keep it up! I’m suprise more ppl don’t watch.
awesome build!
Curious: Did you have to run 0.120" wall for the tubing? Seems like you could have shaved a few more lbs with something thinner, which I imagine you can get away with on such a light rig.
i wonder if a turboshaft can power a rock crawler to go up hill?
Doesn't look like it performs well. Lot of wasted money. To each their own. ....
In wich particular aspect, may I ask?
way too calm
LOL..hahahha..what r u doin?is that a destructive testing before you give it to your costumer?
Money doesn’t buy skill
Everyone has to learn skills. Were you born perfect or did you learn to be. ?
