I have two of these jewels. Bought the first about three years ago for $4500 (steel cam). Only attachments were a 54" deck and Cat 0 3pt hitch, however, it had only 95 Hours on it. Owner had a terminal illness and wife had put in storage for over ten years. I added the third function hydraulic kit and LilBuck loader right away. I chose the LilBuck primarily due to cost and availability. I have no regrets. Primary uses have been firewood, moving gravel and large rocks, and some shallow scraping/digging. Again, no regrets on either upgrade. The second was purchased last year for about the same money, It's a'99 model with steel cam conversion, had about 600 hours, and came with suitcase weights, 54" Deck, Quick hitch 47 Snowblower, Snowblade, chains and Curtis hard cab w/heater. I ran into the same deal you did. I only wanted the Snowblower, but owner wouldn't break package. When he gave his lowest price for the package, I couldn't refuse. It's kind of like being Norm Abrams and having a router for every bit. I have a tractor for two seasons. The 4x5 tractors are superior GARDEN tractors and I have found them to be very reliable.

I got two 2001 445s. One is all wheel steering that I use for only mowing and the other with a snowblower and loader. Great tractors

I have a 425 AWS. With four suitcase weights and tire chains it's unstoppable when plowing snow.

I live on Copper Island, Michigan. Last year 308 inches. Year before, 198. Year before, 365 inches. I have two 425's and 1 445. These are mean machines. Gone through 5 foot drifts with no problem. I advise you get a black heater. Oil pump has plastic gear. When below zero, jeep in heated garage or plug block heater in otherwise you'll end up locking the motor.

Thanks for the tip. It’s been an extremely useful machine so far.

Very good deal at $4400. I live in mountains of Colorado and have used my 445 with 47" snowblower with great effect using wheel weights, suitcase weights, and chains - no problems with 9% grade drive. Use this tractor with 54" MMM and snow plow, too. Also, have ARK loader that was adapted to it. Loader works great on this tractor - use it mostly for moving horse manure, dirt, etc. Actually, I'm selling it (loader) as I have purchased new 1025R tractor, if interested. Keeping the tractor tho' - it's an excellent machine!

Thanks. I rely on the machine more than I thought I would. In fact, I’ve put 45 trouble free hours on it since posting the vid. I’m still waiting for the right deal to come along on a model 40 loader. One of these days I’ll find one. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Great buy. Snowblower is 2000.00. Rear weight bracket very hard to find and very expensive. I have one of these, 2075 hrs still runs great.

Great deal 👌 for what you got in the deal . In ontario Canada here it would have cost $ 9000 all day . Good find!

my brother picked up a low hr 455 diesel with 54' blower 54'' blade, 54'' deck, 4 JD suitcase weights 2 large ford weights, 2 sets of chains, powerflow set up trailer , 3 container leaf collection system , new extra blades, dethatcher , zero rust on anything barely used $8,500 total that was a steal . Im lookin at a 445 for myself both are better than the new 2023 X700 series JDs

I have the Jd 425 with a 60" mower deck. Several years ago I bought the same snow blower you have. Took a while but I found and purchased a Fimco cab for it too. Then added cab heat and a windshield wiper as well as LED lighting all around. I went a different route for adding rear weight. First we put ag-bar type tires on, while mounting them we filled the tire with 50/50 antifreeze/water mix. I think it was about 9 gallons each.

Nice machine, sounds like a real nice price to me with all the goodies. I would expect just the machine for that price. I wouldn’t worry about that hood especially if you are considering a loader on it. You know damn well the first month you use it after you replace the hood something will fall and crack it… maybe do a resin patch in the back to prevent further cracking and run it. My 2 cents

Good point on the hood because that’s exactly what would happen. Thanks for the input!

With the Quick Hitch snowblower, it out does what others around me have for equipment. Especially most of them have plows, the snowblower just snacks on those piles. Power steering is a dream. The shaft drive beats belt driven styles hands down. Plus the fuel injection is typically less maintenance. The price is a steal. The dash cluster is better than the later 4xx series, plus the steel cam. Suitcase weights work easier than wheel weight removal. Chains also help in winter precipitation.

Thanks. I don’t know why I went so long without power steering!

@@HilltownCT It's to keep arm strength up, "Armstrong steering" as some call it.

I think you did pretty good on that package for the price. We also run a very similar 445 and #47 snowblower and #60 deck. Southeast South Dakota. Couple of videos of it in my channel. My local JD dealer got us the plastic wheel weights a few years ago and they seem to hold well enough with chains. If there's ice underneath, almost no amount of weight is going to help!
My dad recently bought a 4 wheel steer 445 with all the stuff you and I have plus a PTO rototiller. We are very happy with both units so far. Hope you are still happy with yours still!!

You should spray the snowblower with some fluid film.
