No I'm not saying Macklemore didn't fucking try his ass off to get where he is now, but if you read the comment I replied to, he made it sound like Sam just sits on his ass and doesn't try at all. I'm sure Macklemore tries and I'm sure he's had some rough times, but it's Sam's turn. Macklemore came and went, it's sad to say, but it's true. I just found sam lachow's music a couple days ago and im digging it, but macklemore's music is brilliant too. his album "The Language of my World", in my opinion, is gold. But sam is still young, so i dont doubt he will be big in a couple years. your obviously not a real sam lachow fan, then you'll know it's not that he doesn't try, it's that he doesn't have the money like Macklemore. "Damn, I have no money when I need it." Macklemore tries, don't get me wrong, but you make it sound like Sam doesn't try at all. Sam doesn't have the fan base of Macklemore, or the money, so imagine how hard it is for him to make videos, his beats, his lyrics, etc. The only difference is that Sam's fan base is more diverse, and his songs are 20x better.

@Seemlyy Wouldn't draw the parallels too closely...it's not like Lachow went mad over music like King Lear did with family, power and politics. His line about going back-and-forth between Seattle-New York I think best connects. Touches on themes of humility, a swelling ego, and hopes to stay grounded near the things most important--self-awareness, love and family. King Lear found himself and calmed the chaos when came to the grips that he's just another human being. Forget how the play ends.
Honestly don't give Mack hate, he's a huge Lachow supporter. I was only exposed to Sam because Mack and RL tweeted a link to this song. Ever since I've been a huge fan.
