    I'm still finding it hard to believe that Walter is gone! I listen to at least one Walter Hawkins song on a daily basis. I'm glad that he left us with such an awesome treasury of music!!!

    I remember when this was shown on WRAL-TV (Raleigh, NC) Levar Burton hosted. This was my very first look at Jonathan DuBose. Very gifted lead guitarist. The Hawkins really know how to pick their musicians.

      I agree with you there. There are singers today, but, very few who are actually sent from the Father that are truly anointed. There is really a difference in the singers we are hearing of today.🙏💗

      Beautiful music. Anointed, spirit-led playing of the gospel music. It can soothe those bad feelings and thoughts one can be having at times. Play it, boys!💋💗🙏

    I am so glad I'm alive in the same era the Hawkins are!!! I grew up listening to them, I have most every album and CD they put out - I feel like one of the "missing" Hawkins family members...

    Shirley Miller recorded a song back in the early years with the words, "I'm finding out what life is all about..." Could someone please post this song. It was so beautiful and I can't find it anywhere, but I know I remember it.

      Hey Marvin, the song that Shirley lead back in the day that your talking about is called "Living For God" which was released in 1977 on the last record the Edwin Hawkins Singers recorded called "The Comforter". The song should still be posted here on You Tube and yes the song is very beautiful, I still play it today.....

    @dmandmusic, I totally identify with you. I also feel like I've lost a family member. Perhaps it's because the messages of his songs are embedded in my spirit.

    Finding out what life is all about is on one of the Edwin Hawkins Singers album with Shirley on lead. This was in the late 70’s or early 80’s. There were only four members in the group, Edwin and Lynnette Hawkins, Shirley Miller and their other cousin Carol King.....

    • @soulbrother34
      @soulbrother34  5 лет назад +1

      The actual title of the song you are talking about is "Living For God" which was released in 1977 on "The Comforter" LP and that was the last LP officially released by the Edwin Hawkins Hawkins Singers and there were 5 members left, Edwin Hawkins, Lynette Hawkins, Shirley Miller, Jeanie King (Shirley's sister), & Daniel Hawkins who played on the LP but never sang in the group...
