I even liked the acting of Chakravarthy. He speaks Hindi with Telugu accent, perfect fit for a guy who goes to Mumbai searching for a job from Andhra. 1999, on a rainy day I watched this movie, i have been watching this masterpiece few hundred times now. I could not find a single flaw, a single one even, in any characters played by these actors

Yes, JD did an excellent job in this movie. Incidentally, it is never mentioned that JD s character Satya is from AP or any other part of southern India. I assumed JD s character to be from Kerala because he looked like one.
In an interview RGV said that Satya's character is inspired by Howard Roark from Fountainhead. A man without a past, a man without a baggage, drifting along, taking life as it comes single-mindedly.

Chakravarthy himself stated in a commemorative interview of Satya that he modeled the character of Satya on RGV himself as he found that RGV is someone who drifts along and takes life as it comes. He's not bound by material concerns. And that holds true for RGV, especially today.

Satya was written by Anurag. However, RGV was concerned with Anurag's young age (early 20's) and brought in Saurabh Shukla for collaboration in the writing process

also what makes this movies, standout from others inspired by Godfather, that the makers of Satya took essence from some of Godfather scenes and perfectly gave the touch of raw Mumbai underworld.

Yeda was the smartest of them all. He knew that this plan of Satya will backfire severely. Interestingly, he went low profile after this as he knew this is death calling for them. Later on Bhiku died and eventually Satya and Mamu. What a movie plot. They don't make such movies anymore

Villain , manoj bajpai, shourab shukla, SD chakarvarthy. Every one was super. From the starting to the end the film was super. It really changed the Bollywood concept

RGV se jyada credit Anurag kashyap and Saurav Shukla ka hai script and direction me mainly unhi ka jyada yogdaan hai, of course RGV ne bhi acha direction diya hai aur acting , editing sab top class hai magar ye movie alag hi thi alag hi freshness hai is movie me, aaj bhi rongte khade hote hain, Anurag ka class abhi bhi waisa hi hai.. Gulaal, Mukkabaaz and Gangs of Wasseypur jaisi movies is baat ko aur pukhta karti hain

Yes both scenes are epic. The difference is of camera angle ,pov and culture. Here they behave like Mumbaikars,in Godfather they were laughing. Camera was focused only on Micheal towards the end single shot defining that he is about to take control.

Bollywood has not seen much of RGV,he created most of his masterpieces in Telugu as the audience liked his rebel attitude.In Bollywood he made few hits such as Satya,Company and Rangeela.His production company made Shook and Jungle as well.He has the guts to make out of the box movies,no other director of his time had that guts.He had flops cos he experimented a lot.He made stars out of ordinary people.
Till this day no one could replace manoj bajpayee as satya.
