- Why Was Babyface Asked Not To Perform at Anita Baker Concert?
#Babyface, who was scheduled to perform at the Babyface and Anita Baker in concert in Newark before headliner #AnitaBaker, said he was asked not to perform because the "Sweet Love" singer needed more time to perform her set in its entirety.
Per multiple reports, the show was delayed nearly two hours due to "technical difficulties" with Babyface's performance canceled altogether. However, fans weren't buying it and immediately took to social media to slam Anita for her "diva-like" behavior, including singer #StephanieMills who said, "one would think as older (artists) who are considered 'Iconic' and or 'Legendary' we would treat each other with respect and dignity."
Babyface has since cleared the air and said he would never "shade" Anita because he has "much love and respect for her," and that he was "reiterating what the stagehand" said about the tech issues.

At this point Anita Baker should not be touring with LEGENDS like Babyface. She should either tour alone or be giving opportunities to up and coming acts that need a break. What ever happened to “each one teach one” ?!
I saw the show in New Orleans, and it started on time. Babyface and Anita Baker were fabulous!
Babyface is always a class act. He want say anything. Probably will bow out of future performances with her. They still had to pay him.
I saw Anita in concert several year ago. She was rude to her sound engineers, not a nice woman.
Babyface should never have been an opening act for her.

Very interesting Tamar Braxton . It goes to show that the Headliner usually has the jurisdiction of the venue or concert . Even going to dictate who is in on stage with you . Very interesting.
NOPE! Tamar has jurisdiction over who performs during her set. Xscape knows that, which is why they LIED saying the acts Tamar brought along, had “weapons” in order to get them kicked out. BUT Tamar’s husband was also Xscape’s tour manager at the time, so HE offered them to stay, but they declined. Which is why Tamar had to redo her whole set.

People love to twist things to create a false narrative. Babyface didn’t perform because of a two hour technical difficulty; and it was only fair to let Anita perform the rest of the show since she was the main act. So Anita did NOTHING wrong; so stop making it seem like she just stopped Babyface from performing.
It didn't have to be a "performing show." Tamar, you know who your former co-panelist/comedian on The Real is....stop it.

I’m sick of Tamar’s mess. She’s talking about Xscape having an issue with her inviting Khia and TS on stage. They don’t sing so whatever Tamar save it! Khia same some nasty things and for someone who always wants her friends to be loyal you sure don’t have the same standards for how you treat friends. I use to be a big fan and I mean big fan. I once won a fan contest of hers when I was in college. But I’m honestly just tired of toxic drama. We honestly just have too much in the world going on. I was a very big fan as well but all that ghetto lip popping , eye rolling and attitude is just so childish to me. At first she was giving Jessie Woo so much disrespect. They must have shown her the comments because I haven't seen that nasty rude eye rolling stuff she was throwing at Jessie in a couple of weeks now. But still she has tarnished the way I felt about her. It's just she can be so nasty to people. I can't imagine what they have to endure when the cameras shut off. And chile she's with that caucasian man knowing she got all that lip... Girl you better remember they do different types of crimes!!! Will pow pow the entire family and not think twice!

I think you want to be something there so you can judge her meaning Tamar. It's like the situation on The Real. Which Tamar was a host with others on the panel. They used to say that Tamar had an agenda against Jeni Mai and that she was bully her. And she wasn't she didn't have anything against Jeni Mai. Tamar was just telling her the truth about things in life and people. She is grown woman and had been in this world for forty-six years I think she may have an insight on things. So Loni name came up. Of course she wasn't talking about Loni. Loni is a comedian not a singer. As Tamar stated sh didn't want to give the name of the performer she was talking about. So I respect that anyway Tamar knows a lot of the famous people in Hollywood. And has long standing relationships with for a long time.

Tamar invited Khia & TS Madison to perform their songs ‘My Neck My Back’ & ‘Next Caller’ during *her own* set. Kandi & Tiny got wind of it, and wanted to stop it from happening (because Khia & TS made jokes about them). So Kandi & Tiny LIED saying Khia & TS had weapons on them, in order to get them kicked out of the venue & have them not perform. Tamar’s husband at the time (Vince) was Xscape’s tour manager, so he offered for Khia & TS to stay; but they were upset & offended, so they declined. Which caused Tamar to have to re-do her entire set last minute. Yet, y’all in the comments MAD at Tamar, because she alluded to that experience & told her story!? 🤔🙄 BYE. Bias really runs DEEP. Never seen such hate toward someone for simply existing…crazy! 🤦🏽♀️
Mind you- When Tamar mentioned it to Kandi on Big Brother, she gaslit her like it didn’t happen that way & asked to speak about it off air. Fast forward, when TS re-told the story the (same exact way Tamar did) to Kandi , she said NOTHING. Never denied it happened that way. Kandi even asked TS to work together, and I’m sure NEVER offered Tamar an apology for that! She’s still catching heat til this day 🤦🏽♀️
