    ~ 1:02:51, Similar to "a gaggle of geese" or "a pride of lions", "a murder of crows" is actually the rather brutal sounding collective name for a group of crows. The game devs obviously came across that and decided to have some fun with it. I played 'Infinite' before Bioshock 2 because someone gave me a working PS3 and the first game I found for it was BI. Having played it, I then thought I had better play BS2 as well, which I did in stages while watching through your playthrough. They are all great games.

    The game takes place in 1912 which is before World War 1. Also the two people you keep running into seem to act as the Gman of this story. Except they are funny and have quips. Also I think you are free to bring things up that you remember from ten years ago. Chances are most of us are here since we know the game already. And don't worry many things in the game still confuse us to this day despite it being ten years

    Comstock's weird Baptist sect made American Exceptionalism part of their theology, elevating those three to the level of saints. Lincoln came later, and Comstock's interpretation of his role in history...varies, let's say, from ours.

    You should listen to the songs though because often they do not match the time period. For example, the barbershop quartet is singing "God Only Knows" by the Beach Boys. It's part of the little hints they are giving you throughout the story. I'm replaying it myself, currently, for the sake of the story, and, luckily, I don't remember the ending. I'm watching your video in case I missed something, myself. For that matter, I may replay the game again after my current replay because the narrative is superb. Like you, the first time I played it (when it came out), I paid zero attention to the story. I am intrigued by the name of the prophet and wonder if he is a reference to Anthony Comstock, the guy responsible for some archaic US laws we still have that prohibit the mailing "indecent, lewd, or lascivious" materials. Comstock Act. Comstock Laws. Although rarely enforced, since abortion medication is included in the late 1800s list of "materials", recent news insinuates the Supreme Court might consider those laws as it pertains to our current situation in the US.

    Infinite is set in 1912, you are Booker Dewitt a man who is half white and half native american, prior to the events of this game you fought in the Wounded Knee Massacre, one of the biggest racial cleansing events of native Americans in US history...let's just say that seriously effected Booker.
    sofia lamb wasn't religious, she USED religion and cultism to influence people and manipulate them...make them feel like they all had a common calling, a common purpose, that whole Rapture Family thing but she actually had an altruist view ironically not too different from Andrew Ryan (despite the fact they disagreed). Sofia lamb's only real desire was to have her daughter...Eleanor become the next ruler of Rapture...she used her genius and manipulation to unite people not to dissimilar from people like Hitler. But she didn't BELIEVE in that religion or the things she preached...she just used it because it made people flock to her.
    Comstock is a whole other kettle of fish...as you'll soon find out.

    The baptized still beneath the water being both sinner and saint is both a hint at later plot reveals as well as a refrence to superposition/Schrodinger's cat. You will find metaphysics walking the line of philosophy as a common theme in this game. You can argue it isn't as good as the first one but you will find the writing still captures the wit and deep social commentary of the earlier games fairly well, if its given the chance.

    Late on the first episode, but regardless, thank you for the great commentary!
    For me, it nicely catches the balance between sophisticated, personalized, and entertaining.
    Your efforts on the technical aspects of these videos are also appreciated, though perhaps not often mentioned here. :) All is just as good, as I could ever, as a viewer, hope it to be.
    About your current subscriber count;
    To me, two thousand seems actually quite a lot as soon as you consider, that these people are much like yourself in terms of their preferences and so on.. Great to "be" here.
    And finally, a game suggestion. Sorry about this; I see that you have your hands full, but I can't keep myself from doing this:
    So did you like SOMA 2015? I think, for a piece of digital media, its entertainment value along different aspects that contribute to its quality far surpasses many other commonly recognizable and well-quoted games. It just turned out so well; made with heart, mind, and proper resources.
    That masterpiece sure sits firmly in the god tier when it comes to that specific category of games.
    And so; let's move on to the presently reigning "king" of another genre:
    PREY 2017. it's a so-called "immersive simulation" (Something a stretch like Bioshock / System Shock). Without spoiling you in any way (and please, there are a lot of muted yet profound moments throughout that game, so do not spoil it for yourself! Just trust me.) I'll say that the game as a whole is simply unmatched. The story keeps you intrigued, while the gameplay keeps you immersed. There are a good amount of twists and pulls a head with this distinct experience. It most definitely would be best complimented by a perceptive player like yourself. And still, as combat exists in modern games, you indeed are allowed to make mistakes (die for example) and do retries (load an older save), so the game is still not so serious that it would "take the fun out of itself".
    NOTE:
    If you do end up playing Prey, then be warned; something's up with the in-game audio. The music, speech, and effects don't mix just right. Fix that worked for me; Adjust all the in-game audio sliders to maximum, and then adjust the system audio on the desktop according to your preference. Blind normalization, yeah, not ideal. Also; it'd be a real shame, if you missed out on the music of that game due to copyright issues and such. But what can we do.
    Perhaps you are so lucky/unlucky, that you have already experienced this venture? Well, if so, my other recommendation should be voiced. Only briefly:
    So, in 1994 a game called System Shock (the forefather of Bioshock and other modern narrative-driven action-RPG games) was published and happened to revolutionize gaming standards a 'tiny' bit. Without going deeper, the game carries an epic legacy, one which many players today won't even mostly recognize, and maybe understandably so. Well, it might have been quite a game since a remake of it has been in the works for many years now. After numerous delays, it begins to near its completion. And though I obviously should not mislead you by quoting something that was never even said, (metaphorically; since I haven't played the game, apart from the great ~90min free demo) I would still like to make you aware of its nearing presence. Despite possibly not living up to the insane expectations, it could turn out notably epic for a first-timer.
    So there you have it. And in summary:
    {
    if Prey2017.notFamiliar():
    spoilers.skip()
    # At a fitting date, if you are interested:
    Prey2017.play()
    if SystemShock2023.notFamiliar():
    SystemShock2023.CheckItOut()
    }
    # Thank you for reading, good charms.

    I'm not sure but it likely wasn't a singularly universal shift with the meaning of the word "gay." Nowaday that happens much faster and more more uniformly thanks to the internet but terms used to evolve regionally. You guys and other non-U.S., English speaking countries still sometimes use "dumb" in its meaning for someone who can produce vocal sound but not verbal speech. We in the U.S. now tend to lump that with the inaccurate term "mute" which means verbally silent because the slang terminology for dumb to mean stupid has become more common. It's still present in our culture thansk to English Canadian influence like its use in the "The Trumpet of the Swan" children's book and "Pinball Wizard" but most U.S. Americans still don't recognize the other meaning.

    You'll learn things later on but it's basically metaphysics. They are above Maine right now, which is what the map you saw was confirming. Columbia is fixated in space by special particles that achor it between realities. They can manipulate where the particles exist within three dimensional space and thus cause Columbia to appear to fly, through this manipulation and the earth's own natural movement. Think of it kind of like the dark matter engine in Futurama where it moves the entire universe around the ship to go faster than it normally would be able to. It isn't as much flying or levitating as it is just existing in a space it normally wouldn't be able to thanks to the laws of physics. Columbia also has to have the abilty to move of the earth's own natural movements would cause the anchored city to get left behind in outer space. It is implied that Columbia does also have some kind of set movement pattern to allow pilgrams as well. The map you saw tracks its possible "flight" paths across the US but both wind up at Maine where the lighthouse is and you have an opportunity to ascend.

      I record in 1440p exclusively these days. I think I upgraded to it before episode 2 of this playthrough so only episode 1 is 1080p. Things look way better now at 2k. As for my settings, I've been honing it all for a long time since I'm so sensitive to quality (audio included). The general stuff is I record the game with HEVC (H265) rather than 4, using the GPU. Export settings on the final edit are much the same, HEVC which achieves better quality at lower bitrates. Rendering takes very long but I've gotten used to it as part of my schedule. I tend to render overnight. 1440p HEVC, VBR 60/100 Mbps bitrate, Main 10, 5.2, High, Good quality.

Viewers will watch this for your takes, probably already having played through themselves. I've done numerous commentary on games I've already beaten, including all three BioShock entries. I always speak as if anyone tuning in is on the same page as I am. But that's just my suggestion.

    If you see a skull above enemies heads > you can finish them
    Press N then green Arrow on the floor will appear to show the way to main mission
    Personally for me it's the weakest game in series in own way, not so Bioshocky, but still good game with good plot
    But those shity subtitles are so small, but thanks for dates, too bad that in first two games there weren't them
    Anyway, good luck!

      @@LiquidBlitzPlays gotcha, just to be honest tho, its well WORTH the price. its honestly that good. :) i also like paying less for games but some games you kinda wanna give all your money too cause how good they are, if its too much you could always go pirate.

    If you played it from release, you didnt played dlc's? I ask because they continue main story.
