  • Every single night in Australia, kangaroos are being shot and their joeys decapitated, bludgeoned or left to die slowly. Why? So that @adidas can turn their skins into sports shoes.
Nike, Puma and New Balance have all announced they will no longer support this brutal wildlife trade... but Adidas is dragging its feet. Which is why we are joining organisations around the world in calling on adidas to stop supporting the kangaroo killing industry.
📣 Raise your voice for kangaroos and their joeys today: animalsaus.co/472Mdii
🤝 We are proud to join @thecenterforahumaneeconomy6139 and animal protection organisations around the world in calling for kangaroos & joeys to be protected from the cruelty of commercial slaughter.

That is just cruel of Adidas. Kangaroos are Australia’s national animal, which makes it more disappointing. Kangaroos are not shoes at all! Animals should deserve to live, because they have a life like us. Just stop doing this, Adidas.

Australian animals are one of a kind. You can’t find them anywhere else and yet big companies are putting them at risk of extinction. I stopped purchasing from these shoe brands a while ago

I wrote to Adidas today. I was so disgusted and outraged at your video a few days ago, on the senseless torture and violent culling of defenceless baby Joeys and their mothers, by Adidas. Only to end up as shoe leather. It's a sad, sorry day indeed, when precious Australian wildlife is facing mass slaughter and horrendous abuse. The greedy, vile perpetrators, who employ sadistic, twisted thugs to carry out this abhorrent cruelty every day, just happen to be a huge multinational company...Who (ironically) pride themselves on "responsible sustainability"...What a delusional, shameful, unethical company you are Adidas. Your brand will forever be tarnished by this atrocious brutality against innocent kangaroos.

Kangaroo population has been rising since at least the 1980s. In the late 90s the numbers began to rise quicker than before. This lead to a peak of roughly 55mil. Back then a drought hit Australia, 2000s drought.
Roughly 30 million kangaroos died of thirst or starved to death. Since 2010 the numbers have been rising quickly again, we are back to the 50 mil mark.
Now the idea is to keep the population under control to prevent another mass starvation. For this reason they hunt them.
Adidas is buying leather from these wild animals, not farm animals. Seeing what global warming brings in the next years I truly believe this to be the right call. Even if a drought as severe as in the 2000s hits now we where unable to save most kangaroos out there. So should we really let them prosper until the next drought takes out 40,50,60 mil or aren't 30 enough?

i still dont understand why we support cows more than kangaroos in terms of farming as kangaroos are mean af and kill more people than sharks every year and then we have cows which are smarter than most dogs and can be therapy animals. wtf

Does the biggest football shoes supplier, nike do it ethically? I understand you wanted to keep it short so the message hits deep but it is important to know whether adidas is the unethical company or do other companies also do this. If other companies are also unethical then why is adidas being singled out
