One of my new year's resolutions was to not buy as much yarn this year because I have so much. I Broke one of my resolutions already.I did several panic orders and have nowhere to store the yarn. I really hope Joann's can stay in business. Between joann's and michaelas is where I buy all my yarn. Joanns is my favorite not just for yarn Majority of what I buy Is Yarn, but I do buy fabrics and craft Supplies Joann's has to stay open 🙏

I’m looking forward to the K&C hanks of yarn I got in. Those were a steal too. I got the shipping notification so I’m excited to get those soon too.

Panic buying 😮 yep, me too...last night. I watched another channel confirming the impending sale of joann and being a big fan of k+c, I had to pull the trigger on my cart 🫣🤫 all hanks of course. I was tempted with the vortex cakes at $2.99 but I think I'll pass. Hopefully I'll have time to go to my local store to pick up some of the wool luxe before it's gone. I'm so excited to get the hanks I ordered. I even got a few of the marshmallow which is the 6 weight merino 🤗

The downstairs “overflow” yarn area is nice and neat but since the room isn’t lined with yarn the sound bounces off the walls. My yarn room is it’s own sound dampening studio. I get the quote partier attitude

@ so there are a lot of @one skein wonder” books depending on the yardage of your skeins. The Menagerie in this video has 410 yards of a DK weight, that’s a lot of yardage and goes far. If your colors semi go together you could mix them in a project too.
I’m so sorry, we have all tried new yarns sight unseen and have been disappointed. I’ve ordered some from Hobbii and have been less then satisfied. We all like different things.
I have been watching and the pricing keeps going up and down on all the yarns. For example, the Red Heart Super Saver Jumbo were down to $4.99/skein on Monday and now are back up to $6.99/skein. Also I have seen where on the category pages you will see the $2.99/skein but when you click through to the information page where you choose quantities and colors the price is higher??? Be very careful and don't think you are getting the lowest prices from page to page.
I think the only way you could get your rooms organized and not get lost in playing and reminiscing is if you sit with a laptop inputting information into a spreadsheet while your daughter or daughter-in-law tell you what is in each cubby hole. I keep my yarn in totes and I have a spreadsheet that breaks it down by tote, manufacturer, yarn line, color, yarn weight, quantity of skeins, yardage per skein, total yardage, color family i.e. red, blue, green etc. or multi if variegated or ombre, and finally was it discontinued. That way I know exactly what I have at a glance and know if I have enough for whatever pattern I want to make next without even having to go into my yarn room and don't end up starting something and running out only to discover the yarn has been discontinued and can't get more.
I’ve seen the prices go up and down from day to day depending on the yarn you are interested in. I’ve done my fair share of panic buying so have definitely checked to see what I’m paying per skein. Good advice to double check though. Thank you

I’ve seen that at multiple places where I put something in the cart at the same, went back to it after the sale was over (still showed sale price in my cart) clicked to buy it and it went to the current price. Sadly i didn't get a coupon, but there was a 10% off coupon i was able to use. With shipping, I averaged just over $7 a hank. Not bad.

That’s a good idea. I cataloged everything 3 years ago but haven’t kept up with it. Tons of yarn has not been added to the database
