Another amazing video!! Nice to see another student who doesn’t need drinking/drugs to have fun . I was hoping to make friends through societies then eating out etc.
Hi Esther, greetings from Malaysia. I just love how grounded, wise and well-spoken you are for someone your age. My daughter is contemplating Cardiff or Leeds for her 3rd year Law (transferring from Malaysia) this Sept, so your videos help a lot. Thank you and enjoy uni life! :)
I've just completed my 1st year and I don't drink. I used to drink but have been alcohol free for 3 yrs now. I'm getting the most out of my course by not drinking and I'm so focused. Good on you
Thank you so much for this video! I have an offer at Cardiff and living away from home and having the freedom, I am afraid of falling into temptations. So, this was very helpful to hear and hopeful:)
Honestly, it's nice seeing your perspective of your first semester. Mine was quite daunting, scary and weird as it was online. But trust me, things will start to make sense and add up in the second semester. Also I've barely made friends in this degree (Which is weird considering that I graduate in a year), so dont feel lonely- we are all in the same boat, but hopefully you do in your second semster (One thing) I would say that I wish I had told my first-year self that it's just the first year you'll learn from mistakes. But Good luck on your second semester- this Is coming from someone who is doing the same degree as you but in the year above and in the same uni as you :)
Aww, I’m sad to hear that you’ve barely made any friends, it’s actually a struggle. If you want, Idm meeting you for a study date or something - lmk if you’re interested, my IG is estherw1n :) Thank you!! I hope the year(s) you have left in Cardiff are great and God willing, you’ll meet amazing people on your course/ at uni in due time🤍
I put Cardiff down as my firm choice and I remember looking through the list of its societies online and being disappointed that I couldn't see any for martial arts, I must have overlooked the mma one somehow but I'm so relieved and excited rn! Maybe see you next year :"D
Congratulations on your offer and acceptance!! What are you going to study? Yes, there are a few martial art societies! Yes, perhaps see you next year :)
@@estherrwan Wow that was a quick reply haha, and tysm! I'm going for optometry. And good to know there are a few societies to choose from in advance, it's hard to imagine a routine without any martial arts. All the best!
Just watching back here. Socialising was not helping because they come to cohesion closer because night out and drinking is a social factor. Just commenting because I only realise what I have experienced. I do have friends from Cardiff Uni who does not drink.
Got an offer from Cardiff and will probably go there. Are there people that enjoy clubbing but don‘t drink? I‘m one of those people and want to go to YOLO socials but don‘t like the pressure of taking shots etc.
Congratulations on your offer!! There will probably be people that enjoy clubbing and don’t drink, you’ll just have to find them at different types of events like society socials or something!
i just got an offer letter at cardiff. i thought cardiff would be good for making friends without clubbing this is little disappointing atleast i get to know this before hand. thank you so much
Congratulations on your offer!! Don’t worry too much about not making friends without going clubbing - although I only met a few people, they are still my friends now - it’s all about quality > quantity and it’s hard sometimes to remember that when you see alot of people in big friendship groups!
@@estherrwan true that's how I got through my undergraduate though friends are important I'm moving to a new country that's more exciting for me. hope to meet you 🙌
Nice, please make useful and helpful videos and informative videos and sensible videos like receipes videos DIYs videos, study videos for example. Instead of vlogs, personal vlogs, time pass vlogs, diml vlogs vlogs, unnecessary talking etc unuseful stuffs please
Hey, I think this is a useful video of me reflecting on my time at cardiff so far and it’s seemed to help a few people, so I wouldn’t call it ‘unnecessary talking’. My videos aren’t for everyone and I don’t force anyone to watch my videos. I appreciate if you didn’t enjoy the video but hope you like my other study videos/ vlogs. Esther 🤍
@@estherrwan yaaa of course this a useful one. So I didn't say this video or your video is unnecessary talking I juz said don't make those kind of videos dear don't take it wrong dear I'm your supporter,i gave my suggestion 💝
I was really worried that me not drinking/clubbing will mean I won’t fit in when I go to uni but its good to know there are others out there like me 😭

thank you so much sharing you experience.love you.
i love this video !!!
Thank you!
agree so much with the friendship thing!
There should be a society for non-drinkers
There are more socials now that are non- alcoholic!
