Great video. What’s really sad about taking them all down is that the people who live there will be displaced and the new places built won’t be social homes, they’ll be classed as ‘affordable’ (which they won’t be for most) What will people do?
@@user-qb4ix6yq6l we have both types nearby where I live - so called affordable homes (3-bed) have a monthly rent of £1k whereas social homes (same size) is £500 a month. Unfortunately ‘affordable’ isn’t affordable for most whereas even with a part time job, social homes are still affordable. It may be different everywhere but certainly where I am there is a distinction.
Ceratainly that happens in inner London the council gives them compensation for a demolished flat but it is never enough to buy a suitable property in the neighbourhood so they sometimes have to move out of London many miles from friends and relatives.
