Nigeria my country. My cousin in America is already an air force pilot at 17 after he got his high school diploma at 16, while Nigeria is telling our kids to wait at home and be idle for years. Being a Nigerian, you're already backward and having these politicians will make you more backward.

I think we are chunning out policies without proper blending. If 18 years is now minimum education for entry into higher education, there should also be a collaboration with the ministry of labor and employment to raise minimum age of employment especially in the private sectors. We have the Banks who say that graduates above 24 years old aren't eligible to apply for jobs in these banks. We have to consider uncertainty factors like ASUU strike and other internal set backs. Aside the banks, there are also companies that only recruit graduates not more than 24 years old. So, to balance this, the ministry of labor should raise and enforce the minimum age of employment.

What collaboration? You think they really care about that? We should fight against this policy because it will have a ripple negative effect across board. The Minster's tenure ends and the entire Education System is wrecked beyond redemption. If 16 years is the approved minimum age for full time Employment in the Civil Service. How can you them say a 16 year old is too young to attend University? Dr Reuben Abati bagged a PhD at 24 and he is doing exceptionally well.

... the above call for massive exodus of the GenZ to countries like Ghana, Kenya, Benin and even southern cameroun for tertiary education..
The above shall also increase rate of cyber crime as an idle hand is the devil's workshop.
Instead to lengthen students industrial work scheme period, they came up with this funny policy.
I pity this old people, we are heading to a situation where we won't have the young people in our workforce. We are ending towards really becoming a full blown consuming nation with zero physical goods production. Unfortunately we do not have structures like UK, UAE etc where such options are blessing.
