Seems like it's a bug, only a software update can fix it. The only way would be to delete the old contacts from both parties’ iPhones. While this is not ideal, you can share your Contact Posters afterward.
this feature works like shit, if i choose contact who share poster and choose create mine poster for this contact i cant never back to use poster which someone share with me :D

Just go and add your contact cars to siri in settings, it will fix, but the poster still won’t show in other people’s phone 😂

My contact list doesn't show my name or photo on top. Upgraded to 17 already. Useless video.
Search that issue into RUclips, and you will find my video on how to fix that as well
