yes drag line is a learned skill! keep plugging away and it will become 2nd nature just like the dozer work or trimming the banks! I was not sure if it was possible to have a bigger bucket. but you answered that question! thanks for sharing your time and skills! have a great night Brandon!
I remember when I was a kid. A friend's dad owned a small drag line, so the county would hire him to clean the creaks, and farmers had him clean drainage ditches and ponds. Your Linkbelt is 2 times the size. It brings back memories of us boys clearing brush ahead of him digging ditches. Hopefully you will have some fun while working.
I can't critique, because I've never operated one,😂😂😂. I've been told that the electricity can jump up to 25 feet. I don't know if that's a fact, it's just what I was told. Those cables carry a lot of power and I don't want to test it,😂😂😂. You are definitely taking a huge amount of dirt at a time. I've been looking forward to seeing it work ,so thanks for the video. I kept ducking when you were swinging over the camera, 😂😂😂. Take care and I'll see you later.
You looked fairly smooth running dragline. I wish I had a chance to learn how to operate a dragline. I didn't have such machine at the pits I worked at.
I used to do work for couple of guys that had draglines and they used a open bottom sawyerman bucket with a highline and did everything from one side quite fast no swinging just back and forth and large capacity compareed to the bucket build a 10yard for a old coal field machine to dig lakes
you doing pretty good little more you will be great you can make more clear mmoneywitha dragline than anyother piece if you had3 or 5 yd that high priced excevator would have squirm to keep up what are they gonna do with tailings
Hey Brandon great video, I got a couple of questions who pays for this the Corp Of Engineers or the River Board? And how do you tell how deep you are digging in the water?

How do you know how deep you’re digging? Seems like you should have some markings on the cable.
Say navy gumball.. its close enough

Damn nice video. How much weight are you moving per bucket on the dragline? 3000lbs per pass?
You can take a piece of Styrofoam or piece of foam rubber and put it over the microphone it'll cut the wind noise down
