As an asexual lesbain, it made me so happy when Andi said she was ace!!! Its so wonderful to see representation of my identity that is so often erased in this wonderful short film. Thankyou for that:)❤️💛💚💙💜
I like at the end Andy really outlines the true confusion that can happen due to the way our society views sexual identity. It makes finding out who you are extremely hard to do. In truth I think so many people continue to evolve over time with their understanding of who they are. Anyway lovely short, thanks for sharing it.
I clicked on this not knowing what to expect, I clicked off of this having experienced one of the best short films I've ever seen, in all seriousness. I would love to see a part 2, because the storyline, characters, and attention to detail just made me crave to know more of this story. Also, the asexual lesbian looks like the daughter of Lily Richards (another creator of LGBTQ+ content). Amazing job and thanks for sharing this.
I checked the time of the film and said "Oh 11 minutes left? They have plenty of time to fall in love." And then it was over 😣 That last 11 minutes went by too quick.
I like that it doesn't say "GaY/LesBiAn Short Film" because it's weird when people call it like that. It's just as saying "a gay couple" Why? They're just a couple. It's just a film. Not A GaY film, though there are homosexual characters. But it doesn't mean that their whole personality revolves around being gay. I wish more people understood that.
My little brother always labels me as the “Trans sister” and feels the need to tell that to everyone I meet. Do I call you the straight brother? Heck no I don’t. It should be the same way for trans lesbians.
When representation gets to the point that it no longer seems a big deal, then it won't have to be a label anymore. Just because it doesn't have a label doesn't mean it won't come up in LGBT threads; that's how I found it. And I'm glad for that, otherwise I wouldn't have.
Any chance this will continue into a full length film? I was shocked when the credits came up, totally forgot that it was a short. Talk about a cliff hanger ... waiting for more! Big thumbs up to all involved in the making!!!

That first feeling when you know can be the hardest thing in the world I believe that everyone should seen this video... It shows chaos and understanding... Thank you for creating such an amazing and relatable video...
I have to say, this was fantastic. I mean, the acting, the writing, and the chemistry between both characters was very well done. I've seen many that had potential to be a full length movie but none like this. I do truly hope this gets talked about more. Out of everything, I couldn't find anything wrong with this. However, there is only one flaw, and that is that they added the caption "Community Service Day 5" twice by mistake. Also wasn't it supposed to be a month and not days? I would've love to see something further. But even with those flaws I still found this very intriguing and very well made. I am giving this a 9/10!!!
I liked this, it was like watching someone in real life finally be able to open up and explore their true feelings without being judged. It was even nice that it didn't have any, Any, Hollywood overemphasized sexual drama added into it. (That really does distract and take away from the true message of a story) Thank you
I've watched this many times in the last 2 years and I'm still amazed about how good it is. These two actresses are really good. Oh and now there's a full version of it ! Thanks guys.
One of the best short films I have ever seen. I especially was moved by the part where Andy talked about the process of discovery and pain that one goes through when figuring themself out. Also, as an ace person, seeing the ace rep was awesome! My mouth dropped when Andy said she was asexual! I was so shocked and excited to see representation. Thank you for making this video😊
I've never seen a LGBTQ+ short film so well made. It represent how it's like being gay perfectly. The actresses were also very good. I almost cried in the part where she realized she was gay because I feel represented. Now I want to tell my story to try to help those who may be going through the same thing. It's been a very hard process to discovering, accepting and came out. I've always kwew for some reasons that i liked girls but i didn't understand until last year. Maybe i was just rejecting the fact. Also frequenting homophobic friends doesn't helped me. I was ashamed about the thoughts that i had about my sexuality and I hid them for so long that I hit a point where I couldn't hold it in myself anymore. This process of discovering lasted like three years. But when I realized to have a crush on a girl I finally understand. I like girls. Always knew but never admitted. So i decided to came out to my best friend. I feel so listened and understood. I was a little anxious but I made it. The worst part was telling to my group of friends. I first told one of my friends. This time I cried. It's been so overwhelming. But the long breath just before came out gave a sensation of liberation that I can't even explain. It's like discovering a second time. Accepting finally who you are after weeks, months, years of feeling wrong, not being able to understand yourself, your sexuality, after always cry because you wanted to be like the others girls that liked only boys. But I realized that I was okay with that. I liked girls so? I like girls and it's beatiful. Now it's been half year that I made coming out and I love that part of me. And if you're struggling whit the same things, if you're relating to this comment...well, I believe in you. Don't ever be afraid of being yourself. You're not alone. Ps:If you have any questions to ask me feel free to do so. I will answer. I hope of helped someone by writing this. Good luck with life ;)
Great film. It was very inspirational and super touching. I love the storyline of enemies to best friends/lovers. And I absolutely adore the ending of it, it made me tear up a bit. I also really liked how the older lesbian couple is included. Its unique, I haven't seen it yet before, how an older lesbian couple most likely helped the girl become much more comfortable with her identity. And the "you think this is easy" lines portrayed near the end were so true, and the fact it was directed by a man made me smile. It makes me so happy that male directors can also realize lesbian's problems, and how female directors can realize gay men's problems. It truly inspiring, for me at least. I also love all of the positive comments. Its great to know that there are soke amazing people out there. If you're reading this: Make sure to drink some water Eat a snack/meal Shower if you can (clean clothes) And be brave. Even if you're bullied, "hated", a loner, or even if you're popular, well liked, and have many friends. No matter who you are. You deserve to at least treat yourself with respect. Keep your heads high princesses, princess, and ethereal enbies. You all never fail to amaze me
I am gonna wait for the day when "coming out" won't be a term anymore. You wouldn't have to tell someone that you are gay to let people know. It would be as normal as being a heterosexual. I don't know if this makes any sense. 😅 just liberty to be anything without being judged or having the need to put a label.
I wanna be able to have a girlfriend and tell my parents without having to go through the whole process of coming out whereas straight people don’t have to do that.
3:31 I like how she just sped walk to get in front of the car on purpose, and proceed to diss them lmao wth Off topic, but this was such a cute short film to watch!
Thanks to Weird Elf for posting this video on Aven or I would never have got to see this video, I have watched this over and over again, even as an older male, there's many things within this film that I can relate to, from the young girls to the older ladies, I'm more from their generation so remember the days when being gay wasn't acceptable in society, when families threw their own kids out for their sexuality, sadly, even to this day there's still many a person who is still very judgemental and homophobic, I can definitely relate to so many things within this film, Sam Orlowski has done a really good job making this film, it sends a message for so many people of all generations, full support to you, I hope you can achieve your goal, I have mentioned this on Aven. This is a beautiful, touching film, thanks Sam and team
I think I might be an asexual lesbian or asexual and bi and it was great to see a character confess that they don’t know exactly what they are because that’s exactly how I feel. Every time I think about it, I always feel like labels shouldn’t matter and I’m just queer and that’s enough. But it feels nice to know for sure what you are and I think Andy and I are still on the road to figuring that out. Thank you for this short. I really wish it went on longer. Amazing job ❤️

Absolutely 💯 correct, you expressed it so well,we did not need any making out as one contributor was asking for, ( thumbs down) a lovely sweet innocent beautifull film.
History says: what great friends
Me: they’re little more than friends
The hug was so pure 🥺
Oh really
Okay, Sam, I'm gonna need a follow up to their friendship. Because this is one short film that needs to be a series.
I loved everything about it. Especially she knew, and waited for her to say her truth. That was a tear jerker.
Thank you for this. 💞
I know her mama is gonna give her trouble.
But her dad is gonna be super supportive.
Actual ace representation?? My heart😭 Thanks so much for making this!
I love being apart of the LGBTQ community soo much there's just so much out there
Yessss true
ok
This felt so raw... being ace, it was indescribably validating to hear Andy talk about the struggles of finding herself, especially when sexual attraction wasn’t something she experienced. So, so moving, and as a whole, completely fantastic.

I can’t wait to see it if it comes out
Thank you so much for the sequel to come. I come back here from time to time to watch "Thanks to her" again and again. You guys did something amazing. Congratulations. (from France)
@Simona Trulove Comment bot ! Be careful
That was so beautiful and their acting was really good
Thank you!!
I should’ve got an Oscar for acting straight all those years
And the acting was shite

absolutely appreciate ❤️
As an asexual lesbain, it made me so happy when Andi said she was ace!!! Its so wonderful to see representation of my identity that is so often erased in this wonderful short film. Thankyou for that:)❤️💛💚💙💜
Do you have accounts on other sites?
This is the best lesbian short story I've ever seen I'm crying omg
I like at the end Andy really outlines the true confusion that can happen due to the way our society views sexual identity. It makes finding out who you are extremely hard to do. In truth I think so many people continue to evolve over time with their understanding of who they are.
Anyway lovely short, thanks for sharing it.
the amount you could ✨FEEL✨ the gay tension at that one moment💀💀💀💀BDHSJAHDJJSBSBSNS
She’s an ace lesbian!!!!!!!! I’m a ace lesbian and I feel like we don’t get represented as much and this meant so much to me. Thanks
In the beginning that part where she said “then YOU say it let’s go!” Then that punch was very iconic!😌
🤔 ohmygod am I the only one confused as to why she went after and punched Milly instead of the one who was the actual homophobic?
I forgot I was on RUclips for a moment, the acting and production is amazing
This is the best short film. The actors and thier acting were 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👌👌👌😘😘😘😘❤❤❤❤❤
That's so kind of you to say! Thank you!! And yes, the cast was absolutely PHENOMENAL!
I checked the time of the film and said "Oh 11 minutes left? They have plenty of time to fall in love." And then it was over 😣 That last 11 minutes went by too quick.
I like that it doesn't say "GaY/LesBiAn Short Film" because it's weird when people call it like that. It's just as saying "a gay couple"
Why?
Thank you so much! And I have written a full version of the script, but I doubt it will ever actually be fully developed...

Hi! What’s an ace lesbian? :)
@@ShawnyTheGremlin. asexual lesbian. 😊
WHEN THEY WERE LOOKING IN EACH OTHER’S EYES AND LOOKED AT EACH OTHER’S LIPS I KNEWWWW OH THIS WAS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL FILM
“Adam and eve not Adam and Steve!” 💀 wow so original, if you’re gonna be homophobic at least be funny 🙄
😂yeah
My mom told me the same thing when I told her that I came out as Bi to my dad and I chose not to come out to them as non binary or demi
It's adam and his rib, not adam and eve!
Okay but can we have a full length film?? This was seriously so good and the acting/script were so lovely! Great work!
I love the ace appreciation and I love the sweet old ladies I’m bisexual but my friend is ace and this is an amazing film!!!
This was so beautiful. I want to thank the RUclipsr I saw talking about this incredible short turned full-length feature for leading me here because it’s so emotional and beautiful, and we need more of this representation in media.
Thats it? I wasnt ready for it to be over... im crying 😢
Oh my god I'm sorry!! But Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!!
me too! I am just going to imagine that they went to homecoming together and dated and eventually got married :)

That was compelling viewing and I really really need to see her tell her mother. Now that will be a highlight.
This is such a wonderfully made short film, it was so wonderful to see characters like this portrayed so well 😭 I honestly would have watched a whole feature about these two and their story
Holy cow thank you so much! Truly it means so much to me that the characters are relatable and believable to the viewers! Thank you so much for your kind words!! :D

It's such a beautiful feeling when you finally come out. We admit to ourselves over and over, but opening up to a friend is true omission.
That last scene is so moving and insperational... My heart was beating so loudly when she said I'm gay... I'm a pansexual sapiosexual... That first feeling when you know can be the hardest thing in the world I believe that everyone should seen this video... It shows chaos and understanding... Thank you for creating such an amazing and relatable video...
I loved it, just incredible. I wanted more.
That warms my heart!! I'm so glad you liked the story!!
That hug was so powerful!!!!!! I loved it 😍
I have to say, this was fantastic.
(That really does distract and take away from the true message of a story) Thank you
Agree
I've watched this many times in the last 2 years and I'm still amazed about how good it is. These two actresses are really good. Oh and now there's a full version of it ! Thanks guys.
How have more people not seen this?! 🥺
this is so well made, i wish this was a movie. it’s amazing
This would be such a bomb ass book !!!!

Thank you for making this video😊
did anyone notice there was a rainbow in millie's room? lol
One of the most beautiful short films I’ve seen
Wonderful story - wunderful characters and very good actors. I wanna see more of these...
Thank you so very much!!
Came here after watching your most recent version - loved aspects of this one too!
Thanks for making this, hopefully many young people will be encouraged to be themself and be happy, again thanks for making this beautiful short movie
I hope so too, that was a goal of mine from the get go! This is such a kind comment, tysm!!
the fiercefulness and standing up against homophobes, of the darkest haired one is astonishing amazing cool, and strong
Okay but Andy didn't punch the actual homophobic girl. She punched Milly who was trying to calm the situation. Why?
This is so inspiring, I have tears rolling down my cheek ❤ Great Film!
If you're reading this:
Make sure to drink some water
Eat a snack/meal
Shower if you can (clean clothes)
And be brave.
I agree..it should be normal
i think about this all day every day
Everyone just assumes your hetero, and it makes it really hard for gay people to come out.
I wanna be able to have a girlfriend and tell my parents without having to go through the whole process of coming out whereas straight people don’t have to do that.
3:31 I like how she just sped walk to get in front of the car on purpose, and proceed to diss them lmao wth

I LOVE THE LESBIAN OLD LADYS- EEEEE THEY MAKE ME SO HAPPY HJVHCJSVCV
The og lesbians ;)
They are so sweet
Can't wait to see the full version
This is so sweet of you! Thank you so much for your support and kindness, I'm glad the film resonated with you as well! :D
