I just couldn't pass up that sealed Kiss package. My brother had that album way back in the day, so it still has nostalgic value for me, but I guess I got burned out on them back then from listening to their music so much. My favorite from them back then was Rock n Roll Over, and I still love the cover art on that one.
The snow is scarier than the pumpkins. Apparently, it's going to be 17 degrees tomorrow, 17 degrees on Wednesday, 18 degrees on Thursday, and 20 degrees on Friday. Whoot. Cohen and Waits! Two of my favourite singers with less than polished voices. Alice Coltrane is an astounding find. $10 for Bon Iver is great!
It's so crazy how the weather varies so much from one end of the country to the other. I just wish the snow would wait for a few more months, but I'm afraid winter is here for us now. Finding the Coltrane record was one of those instances when I had to pinch myself because I couldn't believe what I was seeing....it was just tucked away behind a bunch of Dan Hill records (one of your favorites).
SNOW??? It seems like it was just August yesterday. I have no problem sharing my contest with a vinyl finds video. I leave my enormous ego at the door. That’s a fantastic Neil Young album. I have a few Tom Waits but only one Leonard Cohen. Both great artists. Thanks for your entry and good luck in the contest. 👍👍
The snow is coming. I'll enjoy my 70-degree days while I can. That's a great Neil Young title. I love it when I find sealed CDs at the thrift shops. You really hit the jackpot with Alice. That is a highly sought-after and very expensive album. And for good reason, it is amazing. VMP reissued it a while back. I hope you dig into her music. Good luck in the contest. Cheers.
I just couldn't believe my luck with the Coltrane album, that was one of the last ones I thought I would ever run into in a thrift store. They obviously didn't know what they had since they had it marked at $5. There it was buried behind a bunch of Dan Hill and Greatest Polka Hits records and I didn't even hesitate when I saw it there, I snatched it right up. I've seen so many people show her music, but it was the last thing I was expecting to see there. The funny thing is, a few days before I told someone how much I needed that album. It was missing the inner sleeve, but the record still looked great and I will definitely buy more of her music when I see it.
Snow in October?!?! That’s so crazy to me. Still, it’s beautiful. You got some great CDs, again!!!! I love Iron and Wine. Kiss steal!!!! That Alice C - it’s a great album for a great price. lol - Susie!!!
It's really warm here in Kansas City which makes it weird to see the snow up in Edmonton. I really like Real Gone and Wrecking Ball may be my favorite Emmy Lou Harris album. I have been seeing a lot of people have been praising that Alice Coltrane album. Great to get Mule Variations on vinyl. Cheers.
The heat wave that seemed to be everywhere never made it to Edmonton... It's been a very pleasant summer here but now I'm afraid we're going to pay for the nice summer by having a bitter winter. It was a great surprise to find the Coltrane album in a thrift store in among the usual polka records.
Coltrane was one of those thrift store finds that I had to pinch myself when I seen it there just stuffed behind a bunch of Dan Hill and Polka records. I love when that happens!
@TCatsDeepVinylTraxx I met Dan Hill ! I took care of him before his show here in Reno.. He told me.. " Keep playing" really nice guy.. but Alice Coltrane.. WHAT !! Wow, Mike.. Too cool for school ! 😅
I knew the snow had to come, but I wish is would wait a few more months. I had an issue with post-Layne AIC, but I have heard a different one without him and it was still pretty good, just not quite as good. It's too hard to replace Layne.
Hi Mike, wow you got snow! Some beautiful pickups there. I’ve got that Rick Wakeman album I picked it up for 75p a few years I don’t think I’ve ever listened to it tbh, but I really should do so..
I think it is one of his better albums and not so pompous like Journey to the Center of the Earth. As for the snow, it should have waited a few more months and I don't think anyone would have complained.
Emily Lou Harris Wrecking Ball is my favorite album by her. $5 for the Coltrane is nice. I’m not a fan of her but many love her. Suzy wanted some camera time lol. Snow, way too early to go into a deep freeze. Stay warm Mike
"May as well get used to it...." Good attitude...you can't fight the weather! I have a Climax Blues Band record that I think is pretty okay - "Stamp Album". The cover art is the best part, but it's pleasant enough. I wonder if Gene Simmons still sings "Christine Sixteen" at 70? Now I have to listen to Discipline in preparation for your next video.
Excellent question about Gene Simmons, that would be rather creepy if he does still sing that one. I find that most of Climax Blues Band music is "pleasant enough" as you say, but there seems to never be anything really edgy to any of the albums. I guess it's okay to have one or two around.
I haven't listened to it yet, but I know it is one of his later albums, so I didn't have big hopes for it. But, since it was cheap and since it's Cohen, I picked it up anyway.
Nice finds! I love the Emmylou Harris and Kiss 👍

Nice one, Mike ! I would be afraid of a Canadian onslaught of winter coming as well ! Watching the rest..😊
I wish it would have waited a few more months.

@@TCatsDeepVinylTraxx I hope you bought the Dan Hill records!
@@EmbryonicRobot I already have them in my Dan Hill shrine that I keep off to the side. He's always on my secret featured artist list. 🤩

We just moved to Alberta from Ontario, and I knew the winters were going to be "extra special", but I thought it would wait another month or two ...

Suzie is the star of the show... A real diva. The snow was nice but I wish it would wait until December... Now it's colder than ever outside.
@@TCatsDeepVinylTraxx I hear you about the snow. It’s too much after about 15 minutes.

I like that live Phish Cd.. good one ! KISS for the win.. Sealed ! I take that back.. Alice Coltrane takes the cake ! 😅

Ugh! Snow! Some very cool music. For now I just can't bring myself to buying any post Layne Staley AIC. One day I know that I'll break down.

I agree. The snow could have waited for a few more months at least. But that bitter cold that has come after that is a bit extreme.

You want it darker is a great track. I struggle to finish out the CD though

@TCatsDeepVinylTraxx I think that track is way up there. Top 5 maybe.
