The first hemi car I ever rode in was this model/year. I was totally astonished by the power that it up out and when I got out I wanted to kiss the ground just for being alive. A college kids rich Daddy got it for him his senior year in high school and he showed up at college with it. After my ride in it I got into my '57 Ford with a 390, three deuces, and a four speed and couldn't believe how slow it was!! After college I got a '70 RoadRunner for myself by working 3 jobs for about 2 years.......
Yup... to me brother it's Any of what I refer to as the Triangle rear Glass Cars.. you know what I mean I'm sure, cause Your Doug and Doug gets its!! 🖒.. peace Brother talk at you Sunday..
I fell in love at the sound of the door opening! My brother ordered a SuperBee, before shipping over to Vietnam, Green, redline tires, black bucket seat interior with headrest, 440X6 4speed!!! My dad kept care of it until 75 when my brother returned to station in Norfolk! Wish I could have gotten that car! And I'm a Ford man!
When you're a real Mopar man you can notice a Mopar on a movie - even when not watching, for example when doing the dishes and the TV is on in the background, by the distinctive sound the doors make.
My dads uncle helped design the gtx when he worked at Chrysler motors back then. His son has an all original 426 hemi 4 speed 67 or 68 gtx I cant recall which year for sure but its original down to the paint etc. Still is showroom new to this day.
@@Xxmeca421xX Totally fair, I was into bikes (pedal and motor) for about 20 years there myself. I guess it's like golf: you think it's boring, you make fun of your dad for being into it, you finally go out with him after years of him bugging you, you stink on ice, your prejudices are confirmed, you hit one good shot...and you totally get it, you're high fiving your dad like it was little league, and you're going out after the round and buying a set of clubs. 🤷♂️🤣
My neighbor had the same year Hemi GTX & yes l had a few rides in it back in the mid 90's... Only difference was this car was red... Man did it pull hard when He romped on it.. Fun times..
Tony and Kathy, the videos lately have been amazing, your channel is really gonna explode, keep up the great content! This car is a gem, cant wait to see more on it!
I love everything you do, but this is really going to be great. Please go into all the details. Don’t worry we won’t get sick of anything having to do with this Hemi GTX. 👍😀
Glad to see this GTX coming into the shop. I have a Mopar that probably has a lot of the same ailments as this car, since it was sitting forever before I got it and I had to let it sit while I finished up other things. So I hope you do point by point videos of what you find and what it takes to get it running again. Thanks UTG 😊🙏
Fricken sweet! I have a 69 RR I wish was a 426. But I'm learning somthing every time I watch these. Really appreciate you taking the time to do these videos!
ROLL UP YOUR CIGARETTE!!! LOL GREAT VIDEO UTG!!!👍 👋HELLO ULTRA KATHY!!! Andy has a sweeet lookin' ride there. Going back to points set up, oh yeah. No squirrels.😂😂😂😂
This is what I've been waiting for. I have a hemi 4speed 67 gtx as well going through the exact same process. I inherited it from my dad so I'm learning as I go...I have a feeling this could unravel some mysteries for me.
Love this video! I'm recalling back to the day in oh, 1973(?) when my buddy Al bought the Silver Bullet from Jimmy Addison. a 67 GTX w/ a 496 inch tunnel rammed Hemi 'street car' for $5000.00 ! Damn engine was worth that much! But I love that the guy is turning back to stock!
@@bw3506 Unfortunately no, my Dad got his out of California had the engine rebuilt and tuned to about 700hp running a 10.41 in Oakland on a foggy night in experimental class. The car got sold to a soldier in Texas in the late 60s early 70s after he got married. The GI wrapped the car around a tree somewhere near El Paso.
I highly enjoy every videos you are coming out with each week but this is freaking exciting! 67 GTX 426, I came across only 2 of them in my life, rare car around here. Can’t wait for tomorrow’s video!😀
I swear, Chryslers are the most cold blooded cars ever made. When I had my 69 RR 383 4 speed car I would always have to warm it up for 15 minutes or so before I could drive it or else it would want to die on me. Loved that thing.
Grease , oil , etc everything was heavier back then ! We were taught and told , warm it up ! I still warm up my 2 stroke chain saw before I set it in the wood !
Wow! I have no words (but l have to say something) l'm 66 years old and can only ever remember seeing 1 of these cars...Willie Barnwell's Dad had a 66 Coronet? (it had 426 fender badge) console automatic & 2 piston? calipers, but the hemi was long gone...it had a motorhome 440 when Willie was driving it
Nice, I had and loved Chrysler cars back in the 70's, worked family gas/repair station as a kid thru high school and tech school, but then went into industrial mechanics, had a family and life happened, I think if I got full into cars, I might have been an UT type guy. This car id such a find, they say they are still out there, but you have to be looking into the haystacks to find one........I'll be watching the progress on this one, can;t wait!!!!!
A long gone buddy of mine had a 67 GTX with a 440/auto. He also 'stole' the 'MT Car of the Year' dealership award sign for the 69 Road Runner they had in the dealership when the 70s came out. Had it in his garage for years.
Lot of Hemi cars in Houston buddy found a 67 Hemi Dodge Coronet a while back. Feel sorry for that car drug up north where it will be cold and wet and rusty.😉
That direct drive starter sound is unique. BTW, have any of you ever noticed that any old movie or TV show from about 67 to even present day, has a reduction gear Chrysler starter for almost every car or truck that gets started; even imports. It's a canned soundtrack. Some people hate it, some love it but it is very distinctive, especially when a Chevy starts and you hear the mopar starter. Sceh, geh, geh! Vroom. Gotta Love it!
early Oct 1966 is when the block style HEMI emblems started being used. The early 67’s still used the 66 426 Hemi emblems. My 67 Hemi GTX a 9-20-66 car has the early style.
Love these cars. My pride and joy is my 440 powered 1966 Satellite. Looking forward to seeing much more on ths project. Rock on Uncle T !! 🤘🤘
I like this andy guy I hope he sticks around
11:03 I can guarantee you that I will not be getting sick of a Plymouth GTX.
Did you hear that door close? No matter the make, that sounds solid!
The GTX is awesome.

You need some squirt bottles like the one your using for gas with UTG on them for your merch
UTG reproduction AmWay bottles!!!
Omg.
I love seeing a 426 under the hood. It's never gotten old for me.

i would NEVER get tired of a hemi gtx.
Always loved that body style. Hemi makes it even better. Lucky guy to have this beauty. Good luck on her guys.
Finally an elephant in the room. :)
Two thumbs up on no squirrels.
It’s not Nit picking, it’s observing. Yes it matters. Loving it.
Gotta get it running well enough to do a burnout on 4-26.
I like that idea.
1967 GTX is a sweet car in itself then you add a 4 speed and a Hemi to the mix and man that makes one badass car
Beautiful car.
Great timing! I just bought a 1968 426 road runner that has sat since 2013. J code car also with automatic , manual steering and manual disk brakes
Wow!! That is to me .. my favorite B Body..
Now that I've bought some parts for my Hemi project, I'm like, 'Careful with that thousand dollar air cleaner!' Ha. Definitely a cool money pit.

You can make as many videos of a hemi gtx and we will never get sick of them
Agreed
Good god that would make for an AWESOME Hotrod DragWeek car! Please leave the paint how it is! Looks awesome!!!
Make that 2 votes for "patina"
My dad's friend has a bunch of mopars and races. He only gets to drive them for a few seconds.. I never understood having a car you can barely drive.
@@Xxmeca421xX Did you ever get to ride in one of 'em?

That car is EXACTLY what I want tony, that's really is the "brass ring" car

Looking forward to updates on this project. Very cool.
I was 11 and a new neighbor moved in with a 67 gtx 440 auto, I knew it was fast because at construction zones the guys would turn quickly and stare!
Got to be drooling over this car Tony!!
I’m speechless 😲 Please keep it safe, people know it’s there now Tony

The alligator clip may have been for theft protection.
I just said the same thing to Fred Flintstone's comment. LOL
