A 5 and you might as well leave houston for at least 6 months
And that was just letter B...we still the rest of the hurricane alphabet to get through🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
They are suppose to stay ready to keep from trying to get ready huh…
To the 12,000 out of state workers: Thank you for taking time away from your families, traveling here and working the long, hot days to help restore our power. If no one has told you guys yet, let me be the first... You are highly appreciated right now. Thank you so very much. The one thing I love about our country is the fact that when push comes to shove, we genuinely care and will help out those in dire need.
I hope the power gets restored sooner rather than later. I think the heat is making a lot of us more irritated than we should be. I mean, I didn't hear a lot of complaining before the storm and now in the aftermath, people want to stress on it when it's too late to do so. Right now we have to deal with it. So, if you happen to see the workers diligently working hard in this muggy, hot (and not to mention mosquito infested) weather, stop and thank them personally. Maybe offer them a cold bottle of water, I don't know, just show them your appreciation and support. Thanks
Much appreciated I work with Osmose doing damage assessments came from Arkansas
If you are running a bar-b-cue at home, take a lineman a plate.
@@consciousbey Thank you so much. Our power came back on yesterday afternoon and we are so appreciative for that.
Blah blah blah....to much money flowing thru that organization for these type of issues. All roads lead to greed and or incompetent leadership.
I work at center point and workers just don’t want for go out there so yea I agree with the graffiti even tho it’s my pay check
Just found out their annual profit is 6.7 billion and increases every year. Time to open up the opportunities for competition and shut off the Centerpoint Monopoly!
public company profits go to execs and stockholders not to modernization
Man on a serious note I’m praying for the workers. If this goes into next week & after I’m almost 100% sure somebody is gonna lose their life of get seriously injured. People are frustrated & it’s growing each day
I believe Centerpoint is not able to take care of so many customers. The government should be considering not allowing them to handle the power lines for so many customers. The government should only allow one company to take care of small portions of the power lines
Center point workers, what they are really doing is overtime, this is the time they can get a great payday, and less work, sleeping in parking lots hanging out, 20 of them watch on someone working, or maybe 2 working and 20 hanging around and watching. That’s what’s really happening out there.
💯💯💯rowdy !! Great one 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
You guys need to keep in mind that these workers are working in this heat and that this job is dangerous and have to do the job right. Workers die in this line or work, I know it's frustrating but be patient and power will be back. To all yhe workers, thank you for all yhe hard work you do.
Centerpoint is pure trash as a company
Electric companies want their $$$ on time, but those extra charges we pay for infrastructure upgrades, what happened?
This is 100% related to deregulation of the power in Houston. Other places in Texas simply do not have this issue.
FACT
Exactly the opposite. Everything that is over regulated to the point where there are only one or two companies almost always provides terrible service. Comcast is just as bad.
@@Micloren Fake news buddy, Houston has deregulated power. Now you guys will learn what that really means. I have 45 years in the utility business , where is your knowledge coming from?
@jugglesdimensions8632 Cali is certainly regulated and p&g still can't prevent rolling blackouts and wildfire.
@@jugglesdimensions8632 You’re clueless. The TDSPs are still heavily regulated. Centerpoint is the TDSP of the Houston area.
Class action lawsuits is required 😮
Why are we not prepared??? This is not the first storm!!!
Ice age storm 2021 in joke on you
Incompetent City Leaders.
And the mainstream media keeps towing the line for these energy companies
We’re still without power and we got notifications last night saying prepare for several more days without power!
At least ur phone isn’t dead
My phone gets zero signal. No calls and no Internet. Sometimes driving to a different part of town gets me signal but only for awhile. I then have to drive to another part of town. I'm out of gas now too
@@mdiGrilo kinda sounds like the issue is more than just electric
Same
No work for 4 days. No income. 😢
Heat waves an no power is crazy
The focus on line workers is a distraction, nobody is talking about that. We’re frustrated that CenterPoint, as a multi million dollar monopoly, has not prioritized building resilient infrastructure and operations. The outages tracker is a great example.
There's a PUC (Public Utilities Commission) Hearing in Austin right now, televised LIVE on another station.
They're "sending thoughts & prayers".. seriously.
a PR show?
We need to pressure are local, county, and state governments to break away CenterPoint. Houstonians want consumer options! We had it too many f::: ups !!!
Hold the bigwigs bonuses and see who stars to work.
we should sue them
Well everyone can move back to New Orleans , Snow belt ,California and Mexico now. By
@cold. New orleans made houston better
Nah!! They claimed Texas was so much better than Cali. The cost of living and all that. Never experienced anything like this and lived through rolling blackouts. We gladly pay more to avoid situations like this.
Abbott is a clueless joke all he does is pass the blame. Abbott and his minions need to put their Big Boy pants on and do their job! Enough with the excuses.
Call in the military. What's wrong with you people? They obviously aren't qualified to do the job. People and animals are suffering 😡
Why call the military then? You just said they have enough suffering to go around.
@@cartoonraccoon2078maybe he means the army corps of engineers, they do disaster relief
“Working several hours”??? This needs to be a 24 hr operation if getting power back is the priority. Doesn’t help their case when news crew have legit footage of CenterPoint workers just sitting around doing nothing
Centerpoint Energy is not working around the clock.
Trucks parked and everybody twiddling their thumbs.
Has anyone ACTUALLY gotten power back yet? Everyone near me is still dead in the water yet they claim to have restored a million + people?
Hwy 249 and 1960 my power was restored yesterday morning.
The work crews restored power to my street and blew up our transformer. They packed up their tools and left without fixing the transformer.
@@Lighthouse6104 I am glad someone has gotten it back at least
@@picklerix6162 I am sorry to hear that. Hopefully there is a massive lawsuit after this and we the citizens can be compensated for our suffering.
My power came on Tuesday morning, however I have Texas New Mexico power and they had trucks rolling out monday evening. Fck Centerpoint!
Yall never trust these ppl again...get prepared for next time...we are on our own believe that
Centerclueless
Centerpoint should be held accountable how they not going to be ready for this bru😂😂
CenterPoint SUCKS!
Oh.. we gonna..
Ohhh... we gonna....
When we see blacked out neighborhoods surrounded by powered neighborhoods, we all know that the blacked out one is tossed aside cause "the map" shows the area is fixed by Centerpoint.
12k workers imported from other states, so every neighborhood/suburb should have dedicated crews, eliminating problems.
Centerpoints hunt and peck solution is weak.
And they still doing assessements.
Y’all stop listening to Centerpoint. You will get more frustrated.
Shoutout to the people out there fixing the grids
Getting jobs like this it’s not about what you know anymore. It’s about who you know to get in those positions.
Texans got what they voted for, privatized power and an absent governor.
how long has it been 'private'. I mean you can seriously say that CA or OR is any better. We had plenty of problems too
First of all, for the reporter if you’re not suffering alongside the people who feels that way to express what they said then you can’t tell us anything. FYI
Lol, a couple million people without and they think this should be fixed overnight , better go apply and help out, work for them if you want power back on.
Houston never learns and always waits until their grid fails or city floods until they realize .....you got a problem!!
I was living there during Hurricane Harvey , in 2017 and the same thing happened , left that city soon after., never looked back...
Stay safe , stay dry
Federal, State, and the local government of Houston is suppose to stay ready to keep from trying to get ready…
Texans are so tough they don't believe in Generators.
You can’t fix outdated towers and wires with new computers and software.
They don’t have to change either they’re the only option 😅
We need a new governor. He still goes through many things that keep happening with no accountability.
What the hell does the Governor have to do with this?
What really needs to happen is a crap load of administrative fines levied and disbursed amongst affected households and charges of negligence filed against Centerpoint board members.
Hope to get a big discount this bill 😒
You will because there is no electricity.
No, it's been shown that they do not discount. Most bills are "estimates" based on past use because even with "smart" meters, they are too slovenly to give you an accurate reading. In fact they will probably raise rates for recovery efforts or some other bogus reason.
Almost as evil as HCAD.
You won’t. They’ll still charge you and expect to be paid on the date smh
Not frustration. More like persistent nausea. Working around the clock, but not on the problem.
Day four still no power. Two ways to make me happy is 1: when everyday pass by free power a month. 2: free solar panels for everyone.
Centerpoint LESS!!
I and every account in the housto area pays 50.00 per month for grid maintenance and guess what ? They dont maintain thw grid. This grid is designed to fail not designed to work. This is what happens when they are not regulated
Contact Gregg Abbott!!!
He is not in the US , he is on tour in Taiwan. Foreign relations more important than citizens.
He only cares about his rich donors.
And, yet, the clown in the wheelchair keeps being re-elected.😊
He’s only cares about not disclosing just who might be donating into his coffins, whether his donors are foreign, or domestic
Greg Abbott doesn’t give a sh*t and never has.
Every state need federal oversight for tax payers safety. Texas don't want outside help during any tragic situations. But want to raise our taxes for their greed and foolery
A whole bunch of words that mean nothing
And they are telling customers 2 to 25 days, why are they not saying that when questioned on tv/video. Lies!
So F.O.S Centerpointless. Texting us after midnight last night. Called them and no updates available this morning
Houston was a magnificent city. Now its at the mercy of a hurricane in July.
Voting for deregulation in the utility sector as consequences.

I thought the narrative was a civil war?!? You guys need to get your messaging straight.
If only SOMEONE WOULD HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE. Oh what's that - you can't because they give millions to Texas leadership in lobby funds? Weird how that works. If you live in Houston, make plans to move. This was a cat 1. Imagine anything worse.
Florida has cat 4.5 storms thry barely loose power .. these guys don’t start wk till 1 and are off by 6’.. ridiculous
Centerpoint doesn't want to spend the money to ensure this never happens again: put their powerlines underground.
Gee, it's almost like privatizing all your public infrastructure and getting rid of all the regulatory bodies that ensure a stable power grid was a bad idea! 😂
Are there emergency campsites setup? four days without water or cooling areas or hygiene is past due in emergency management. It makes this a state of emergency, they need MREs, Water tankers in the cities, Send the Guard
Texas Governor and Florida Governor must use the same emergency relief plan. YA"LL ON YOUR OWN, SEE YA NEXT WEEK. 7 days self survival, get your own power, water, and food, then wait for FEMA.
Indeed, that is the mantra!
It's amazing to me that he literally fled the country before Beryl hit. I hope all of the voters remember that, not just the ones who've been gerrymandered out of having a voice.
If you don't have your own food and water it's your own pathetic fault.
Abbott wouldn’t stand for slander and ran out on Texas.
@@jugglesdimensions8632 I do, as a matter of fact. What about those who were flooded out of their homes, or who are too poor to have air conditioning? What about the old and feeble?

Nice attitude. I bet you call yourself a "good Christian", don'tcha?
if you call CenterPoint, first thing you will hear is…”are we here to make a payment” 😂😂😂😂
These power outages are numerous times a year and have been for last 10 years. Houston has hurricanes and storms all summer long and always problems in winter. The bad weather does not stop and CenterPoint can't or won't keep up. CenterPoint doesn't even send out text alerts anymore.
Its coming out that CP has fallen into the DEI trap, where unqualified individuals have been doing the planning for tha situation at hand & simply are not up to the job........
So, how's Our *TX "Rainy Day Fund"* doing? Bet all the interest has really built it up.. how come We have all these "Rainy Day" crises, & the fund never used to FIX the problems?
UTTER BS from Centerpointle$$!!!
That is what happens when you are off the national grid
That’s not the problem at all.
@picklerix6162 part of it is thought. We could be using the other 49 states who share a power grid and have a lot more power back
@@siegedoyle The power is down because a hurricane shredded trees for hundreds of miles. Those fallen trees damaged power lines. Electricity from the other 49 states can't flow through down power lines.
YEA I SPOKE TO SOMEONE AT ENTERGY.OUR POWER WILL NOT BE RESTORED TIL THE 14TH OF JULY 2024! WE LIVE NORTH OF THE WOODLANDS ! STAY SAFE GUYS WHO ARE OUT THERE IN THE HEAT BUT PLEASE GET OUR POWER GOING!
I may not have power for another 7-10 days. Centerpoint Energy told us that all of the homes on our street are low priority.
And this is why we had anti trust laws
Federal, State, and local government needs more of an assertive response to the climate crisis that’s happening
You're talking about rethugliqans though 😂
Perhaps not climate but just letting the power line structure deteriorate then slow walk after the storm to bring about as much pain and suffering as possible in order to perpetuate the climate change narrative. Get the liberals out of town. They have turned Houston into a San Juan, Puerto Rico look alike.
Federal? I thought you Texans don't want federal interference! Pull yourselves up by your boot straps YEE HAW
Stop voting for inept Republicans.
I'm an electrical contractor and this is just par for the course. There is not a single Centerpoint number you can call and actually have a human answer typically you have to leave a message and hope they call you back. Power lines on the ground in my yard but they have me marked green on the Outage Tracker. Liars. Their new CEO left a bunch of dead bodies at the last place he worked.
i always felt, if you have to pay for a service, you should be reimbursed for lack of service. internet, power, or water should credit you for the time service is not available. build better, put your lines under ground. instead of putting the same system back the same, to be destroyed the same way again.😅
