Yeah I noticed a few trips ago some lady looking at and touching things in my cart and I called her out. Now I’m more careful with my bag and cart. It’s so crazy because I’ve been going to the bins for a few years now and that never happened until recently. I’m glad you were able to find a good amount of inventory 😊
I have found multiple fanny packs at the bins so I have three of them that i rotate wearing when I go to the bins everything is right attached to the front of me would be really hard for someone to get my wallet or cell phone or card. And that's all I take into the bins. One day at bins found a Coach purse In a clothing bin looked new I was like yeah I can check comps out. I lifted it up was heavy it had a cell phone cigarettes wallet so turned it in to checkout and the lady was so thankful.
That happened to my friend when we were at a Goodwill store a month ago! Thank goodness her keys were in her pocket and her phone wasnt in her purse. We did the police report, the officer was supposed to check the cameras but the employees said he didnt. She lost a gold necklace and a months rent,along with all her personal stuff and bank cards. It was a good thing she accidentally left her license at a business a few days before, the purse thief didnt have her address. I paid for her cart too. Her stuff still hasnt turned up.
Wow, that's so rough! Glad her keys and phone were safe, but losing all that stuff is awful. Good thing her license wasn’t in there, though. Hope something turns up soon!
These are my bins! I caught a lady trying to take something from my cart a couple of weeks ago. I wonder if it's the same lady. I ALWAYS wear my bag and never leave it in the cart. I hope she gets her bag back. What an inconvenience!
Kelly, wow, that’s wild! The bins can definitely be a bit of a free-for-all at times. It’s always smart to keep your items close-lesson learned for sure! Oh no when I go to the bins or just out at a store in general I keep my purse strapped around me & make sure it is zipped. I also will put my coat over top of my purse when its cold outside
Oh NO! I'm so sorry for your friend! I had a woman at goodwill take a belt out of my cart. No drama though, I just took it right back...and that was that. I'll never undertstand how someone can steal something from another person.
At my local bins once I caught a lady who walked up to my cart and started to look (and touch) my purse. It was so weird. Even if she didn’t want to stole my purse, why would you touch the things in someone else cart?! Since then I watch my stuff like a hawk. Sometimes I even take an old, rough-looking backpack with me to thrift hoping that ppl won’t be interested in that old piece.
That’s so strange and uncomfortable! It’s like, why would anyone think it’s okay to touch someone else’s stuff? Smart idea bringing an old backpack-it’s sad we have to think that way, but it definitely helps keep things safe.
PSA.... for anyone shopping at the bins (or anywhere for that matter) do not EVER let go of your purse at the bins. Thrives go to bins just or this reason. I have had many items stolen out of my cart many times. I caught a 70 year old many picking through my cart and others.... its how he shops. Theives know that goodwill will do nothing at the bins about theft.
I hate this for your friend. I always wear a crossbody so that my hands are free. It's amazing how low down some people are. I was at a bin store and someone stole my large Thirty -One shopping bag. I was so mad. When I spoke to the store owner about looking at the cameras he claimed that they were not working that day. SMH.

Seems to be stealing at Romeo than Gary Bins. Whether it is personal stuff or stuff you pulled from the bins for yourself. I was in there my second time and my friends basket got all kinds of stuff stolen while we were doining the shoe bins. That's really bad. Do to the size of that place in Romeo its hard to keep your cart with you at all times. I have had a couple items stolen in gary but it wasn't anything worth anything. Apparently they needed it worse than I did. It's shocking that they are stealing that much at Romeo and then they do zero about it. I feel for your friend.

Something happens to people at the bins. They forget they are human and turn in to scavengers. I had my whole cart stolen from me and staff did nothing. They let this happen at our bins. Sorry about your theft experience that is just not okay.

I had a friend who was unloading her groceries into her car in a parking lot and when she was turned toward the car someone stole her purse that was sitting in her cart. Maybe a hands-free wearable option (like a crossbody or waist bag) is the safest option. Be safe out there!

this is so sad and nobody is exempt... my son just got his candy bag snatched by 3 girls on halloween night. he was devastated

That's why i dont ever use a purse. I use a wallet that is in my back pocket.
